Biography:
Taylor Momsen has been acting since the age of three, when she starred in a series of adverts for Shake ‘n’ Bake. She has one sister, Sloane, who is also an actress. She was raised a Roman Catholic by her parents in St. Louis, Missouri, and she attended a Roman Catholic school there.
Taylor’s first major film role came with How The Grinch Stole Christmas in 2000. After attending the Professional Performing Arts School in New York, the film roles didn’t really start to trickle in until 2006 when she starred in Paranoid Park, Saving Shiloh and Walt Disney’s Underdog. Taylor also auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana, made the final three, but was pipped at the post by Miley Cyrus.
Then came her big break landing the role of Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl. Modelling campaigns with New Look, John Galliano perfumes and Madonna’s fashion line soon followed.
When she’s not busy flogging designer gear, Taylor likes to rock out as the lead singer and songwriter in her band The Pretty Reckless who are signed to Interscope. Her band’s debut album Light Me Up was released in August 2010 and debuted at number 6 in the UK album chart.
