It’s a bit of a cliché, but I was always the kid at school making a fool of himself
Biography:
Gorgeous TV star Vernon was working as a cleaner in Bolton when he was scouted by a modelling agent. After working as a successful model around the globe, his first presenting job was the BBC Saturday morning kids show Fully Booked Interactive in September 2000.
Becoming a firm teen favourite, Vernon presented T4 from 2005 and became the fresh new face of youth programming for Channel 4. Heading up shows like Pop Beach and Liquid News, his smiley boy-next door charm soon led him into the prime time Saturday night slot.
Working his way up to become the new king of light entertainment, grannies love him, mums love him, your little sister loves him, and he’s the kind of guy your dad wouldn’t mind you taking home. Well. Until he had that sex text flirtatathon with a page-three model that is.
Presenting prime time shows like Hit Me Baby One More Time in the UK and the US, Gameshow Marathon and All Star Family Fortunes, Vernon’s also presented alongside his lovely wife and Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly. Herself a former model, they’ve had remarkably similar careers and married in September 2003. The couple have two daughters, Phoebe Elizabeth and Amber Isabella.
Alongside his TV work, Vernon’s also been a Radio 1 DJ since 2004 and he’s often trusted to stand in for big names like Chris Moyles on his Radio 1 show, and Paul O’Grady on his teatime chat show.
