Biography

Hairy-faced hilarious man-mountain Zach dropped out of university to move to NYC to work on his budding comedy career. A long-time stand-up, he got his first acting job playing the perma-stoned Bobby in the sitcom Boston Common.

After getting the boot from Saturday Night Live after just two weeks, his stand-up success earned him his own Comedy Central Presents showcase in 2001. He’s also hosted his own VH1 talk show, showcasing some of his favourite bands and LA comedians.

Zach has popped up in guest roles on loads of hit US comedy shows, including The Sarah Silverman Program, Reno 911! and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job. His online show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianikis has become an internet smash on Funny or Die, where he’s interviewed top stars like Natalie Portman, Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston whilst seated between two potted ferns.

His major break came with his starring role in the hit comedy The Hangover in 2009, which won him the Best Comedic Performance gong at the MTV Movie Awards. He’s since starred in comedy hits Dinner for Schmucks, Due Date and The Hangover II, and has returned to host the show that fired him, SNL, twice.
