Amy’s dad: “She’s on the mend”
Amy Winehouse’s dad says the singer is getting better after her drugs collapse last week. “Amy’s going to be fine,” says cabbie Mitch. “She knows she’s been through a terrible ordeal and is now on the mend. We have been encouraged, after the initial scare, that she is now getting better and going to be all right.” Amy herself has also spoken out and said her dad’s support does much more for her than rehab. “When I get self-destructive, I just need to spend time with my dad,” she says. “Rehab is a cop-out.” Amy’s dad might be a pillar of strength for his daughter, but he’s also involved in some trouble of his own – this weekend, he had a furious bust-up with the stepdad of Amy’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The two families met up at a Hampshire hotel for crisis talks, but it soon descended into chaos. “Blake’s stepdad started abusing Amy, saying some really nasty things,” says a family source. “Mitch just flipped, got up, grabbed him by the throat and wouldn’t let go.” Hopefully he has let go by now, though…

Jesse and Nadine – back together!
Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle is back with her ex, Jesse Metcalfe. The pair split earlier this year after Jesse’s wild partying took its toll on their relationship – but they’ve now been snapped canoodling in the oh-so romantic environment of an LA petrol station. The former Desperate Housewives actor reportedly talked Nadine into jetting to the US for a romantic meal (we think those eyes of his could talk us into getting onto a plane to pretty much anywhere too…).

Lindsay scrubs bog in rehab
Troubled star Lindsay Lohan is back in rehab AND scrubbing loos. The actress checked into tough drink and drug rehab clinic Cirque Lodge in Utah after she was arrested last month for alleged drink-driving and possession of cocaine. She’s said to be behaving like a “model patient” washing dishes, doing laundry and even cleaning the loo. Whatever next…

Dannii: I fancy Simon
New X-Factor judge Dannii Minogue has admitted she fancies fellow judge and TV’s Mr Nasty Simon Cowell. “Simon is very fanciable. It’s his confidence,” said the Aussie singer. Whatever you say, Dannii. Nothing to do with the fact he gave you a plum job in primetime Saturday-night telly?
