Britney close to breaking point. Again.
Poor old Britney Spears had the weekend from hell. As if being in court fighting for custody of her children wasn't bad enough, she was also charged on Friday for allegedly crashing into a parked car last month. Hours later she was spotted leaving a court-ordered drug test in tears and was said to be close to breaking point. To top off her disastrous weekend, her ex-bodyguard did a kiss and tell – but without the kissing, so, just telling really – with a Sunday paper claiming, among other things, that Britney had overdosed on drugs just a few months ago. Oh, and made her out to be a complete cow generally. Can things get any worse for Britters? Of course they can – rumours are now circulating that she never held a driving license in LA. Oh dear…

Babies, babies, babies!
Blimey, Mr Stork has been kept very busy over the last few days as three celeb babies were born over the weekend. After what seems like the gestation of an elephant, Salma Hayek finally gave birth to a girl called Valentina Paloma Pinault (ooh, we like) last Thursday. On the same day, Charlotte Church also had a baby girl, although she’s keeping schtum about names due to a magazine deal. *Raises eyebrow.* Then Noel Gallagher became a dad for the second time when partner Sara MacDonald had a little boy called Donovan on Saturday (after Jason?). Phew.

Jade tells of slim pill addiction
Disgraced BB contestant Jade Goody is set to appear on the Tonight show with Sir Trevor McDonald next month, telling of her addiction to slimming pills. The, ahem, "star" tells Sir Trev how she became hooked on slimming pills as part of a constant weight battle and once even mixed them with absinthe at a children’s party. Classy. “I’ve done so much damage to my body through taking the pills and making myself sick. I’ve gone down that road and don’t want to go back.” Hmm, do we smell desperation wafting around here?

Pete Doherty reunited with his dad
Pete Doherty has met his dad for the first time in three years. Army major Peter vowed not to see his son until he had kicked his crack and heroin habit. But last week they met at rehab with Pete's four-year-old son Astile. The singer's manager said: "Pete has realised the important things in his life. He wants to be a father to his son and a son to his father. He sees a future without drugs.” *Falls on floor.* A pal added: “He wants to avoid the temptations. He’s looking for a country house.”
