Rhydian thinks he's been "stitched up"
The X Factor vote saga rumbles on as runner-up Rhydian admits he was “stitched up” by the phone-line cock-up, when many viewers failed to register their votes because lines for the opera star were busy. The Welsh crooner’s dad Malcolm added, “Rhyd’s not a bad loser but he feels the same as us about the result – and we think it’s a fix. He’s disappointed for himself and his fans.” Show producers said the voting bottleneck was down to the volume of calls and insisted the contest was not rigged. Meanwhile, X Factor winner Leon has had his own share of technical trouble. His winning single, which was available to download from Apple, hit a glitch when the download link crashed, and was only reinstated on Sunday afternoon – potentially costing Leon tens of thousands of crucial sales in his attempt to bag the Christmas Number One spot.
Will Young is horrible to some children
Pop Idol winner Will Young seems to have rubbed Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills up the wrong way. The pair were spending the day at performing arts school Bitterne Park but, according to Scott, Will was in no mood to schmooze. “He refused to meet any of the children, banned all cameras and had loads of kids in tears,” said Scott, adding, “A lot of the children had been really looking forward to it, but they went home really disappointed. Some of them were even crying. That wound me up. He won a karaoke contest, for f***’s sake.” A spokesperson for Will said, “The story is ludicrous.” But Will DOES have a total diva reputation. Dermot puts his foot in it
We're still reeling from Saturday's X Factor result, but it looks like host Dermot O'Leary is o-ver it already. On his Radio 2 show, he told listeners that he wanted The Killers to get to Number One this Christmas with their song Don't Shoot Me Santa, rather than Leon's version of When You Believe. Dermot then said, "I'll probably get into trouble for saying that." One angry text from Simon Cowell coming up...
Pam gets divorced after just 72 days
First there was Tommy Lee, then Kid Rock. Now Pamela Anderson has filed from divorce from her third husband, Rick Saloman (he of the One Night In Paris fame), after just 72 days, citing "irreconcilable differences". Her marriage to Kid Rock lasted just three months – and Pam married Tommy Lee 96 hours after she met him. Pam, love, maybe marriage isn't quite for you, eh?
