Britney’s lawyers quit;
Looks like Britney’s not having the best start to the new year. Her legal firm Trope and Trope filed legal papers yesterday asking to quit as her representatives in the bitter custody battle with Kevin Federline over their two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. The statement said: “There has been a breakdown in communications between [Britney] and Trope and Trope making further representation of her interests impossible." Oops. This is not the first time the singer’s lawyer has quit either, her previous legal representative Laura Wasser also resigned last year citing communication problems. Come on Brit, do you want your kids back or what? Speak to your lawyers!

Jamie Lynn’s TV show axed
More bad news for the Spears family this morning – the show starring Britney’s pregnant little sister Jamie Lynn has now been axed. Sixteen-year-old Jamie Lynn played the lead in Nickelodeon’s teen drama Zoey 101. The fourth and final series has already been filmed in the US, however a source said: “Nickelodeon bosses are still undecided whether to air season four or not. For now it looks like it has been canned.” Hmm, wonder why that could be? Anything to do with the star’s shock teen pregnancy and the fact the TV show is aimed at kids aged nine to 14 perhaps?

Amy invited to perform at Grammys
Amy Winehouse's rehabilitation seems to be gathering pace. After securing a fantastic six Grammy nominations (including record of the year for Rehab), the troubled singer has now been asked to perform at the ceremony on 10 February in Los Angeles. Amy has been on a month-long break on Mustique in the Caribbean and the performance would be seen as a triumphant comeback after all her recent problems, including the arrest of her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, and the cancellation of her UK tour barely halfway through. A source close to the star has said that she is "really excited to be asked to perform at the Grammys. It's a huge event". However, she will need to hope that the notoriously strict US authorities will grant her a US visa to enter the country after her recent arrest.

Eddie gets married
Eddie Murphy has married Tracey Edmonds, the woman he left Mel B for in December 2006. The ceremony took place on a tropical island off the coast of Bora Bora in French Polynesia on New Year's Day. Eddie proposed in July last year and both the bride and the groom apparently wore white. Scary Spice was famously six months pregnant with Eddie's daughter, Angel Iris, when he announced he was leaving her, and Shrek's donkey refused to accept paternity until DNA tests were done. Eddie already has FIVE children from his first marriage to Nicole Mitchell. Less of a donkey, more of a rat then…
