“Gutted” Amy denied US visa
Amy Winehouse has this morning learnt that she will not be performing at the Grammys after she was refused a visa to travel to the States. Following the results of a drug test, which reportedly found traces of un-named illegal substances in her blood, US officials decided not to allow Amy into their country. It’s a decision that has left Amy feeling “gutted” and friends now fear that it may affect her fight to remain clean as the trip was one of her main incentives. The singer is nominated for a whopping 6 awards and was desperate to appear in person at the swanky LA bash on Sunday. She will now have to settle for a performance via satellite link.

Dad warns Britney: “You’re going to die”
Britney Spears dad has warned her, "You are going to die" if you don't go back to hospital. The singer's terrified father, Jamie, is desperate to get Britney back into the hands of medical professionals after her early release from a psychiatric ward. But Britney has ignored her parents pleas, instead screaming, "I want my life back." In other Britney news, the star now also faces opposition from her neighbours who are planning to mount a petition to force her out of her Bel Air pad after growing fed up with swarming paparazzi.

Leona speaks out on street crime
It’s the topic of the moment that just won’t go away, and now celebs are having their say on gun and knife crime. Mega-successful X Factor champ Leona Lewis has spoken out about her experiences with street crime growing up in London’s East End, saying, “Most of my friends have been shot, stabbed or beaten up.” Leona goes on to say glumly that it seems to be “part of being young in London,” but that the trouble only made her more determined to do well in life. “I always had a goal, which kept me off the streets,” she explained – and it certainly worked. Since winning The X Factor, Leona’s album Spirit became the fastest-selling UK debut album in history and she’s now set to conquer the US.

The Babyshambles frontman, who has battled drug addictions for years, made a fan’s dream come true by playing at her birthday bash and has since been inundated with requests. A source said, "The birthday girl’s dad told him she was a huge fan and that he'd give him £100 to perform at her party. Pete was flattered and happy to oblige. He turned up and played his big hits. Everyone had a great time. Her dad told the local paper and Pete has been bombarded with requests to play ever since." In fact, Pete’s agent has had over 500 requests for Pete to play hits like F*** Forever at private functions. Not quite the same price tag as say Christina Aguilera, who charged £1.2million for two songs at a wedding!
