Screaming heard from Britney’s room
Reports on Britney's first night incarcerated are emerging and the fragile singer is apparently struggling with the new regime. Britney, who was sectioned yesterday, isn't allowed to bathe on her own and is made to wear a green robe and wristband while she under goes 72 hours of psychiatric assessment. The singer is now under 24 hour surveillance and reports last night suggest that overnight staff could hear screams from her room.

Amy Winehouse rushed to hosptial
While the world was watching the unravelling of Britney Spears yesterday, Amy Winehouse was rushed to hospital and put on a drip. The star who is in rehab battling her drug addiction was taken to a private London clinic – checking in under a false name. A close source said, "Amy was looking very pale and thin. She looked ropey and exhausted. Let's hope she hasn't taken a turn for the worse." Amy's dad Mitch added, "Amy is OK. She is making progress, but will be in rehab for a long time."

Lloyd Webber: “Rhydian who?”

Andrew Lloyd Webber says that X Factor runner-up Rhydian Roberts will not be in his new Phantom Of The Opera – as he has never heard him sing. After impressing judges by singing Phantom on the X Factor last year, Rhydian had claimed that he was in talks to star in the sequel to Andrew’s West End musical. “Andrew and I have communicated,” said Rhyd. “He already knows who I am because he let me sing a version of Phantom… My ambition is to play the Phantom by the end of next year.” However, Andrew has now poured water on this claim by saying, “I wouldn’t have thought so, I’ve never heard him sing.” Ouch. Never heard of YouTube, Andrew? There’s lots of clips of him singing on there.

Lily Allen makes a new friend. Not.
Awkward alert! Former Blur singer Damon Albarn has spoken of his difficulty in working with Lily Allen. Damon spent a day in the studio with Lily in a bid to come up with new material, but failed to find a creative spark. “The record label thought it would be a good idea,” said Damon. “She came down to the studio and said normally she would just sit around and listen to a musician and come up with some ideas. I jumped on the piano and played mad stuff but she just looked at me – it didn’t exactly go well.”
