Amy "determined" to stay off drugs
Amy Winehouse’s proud Mum Janis has given a second day of interviews about how her troubled daughter is turning her life around. "She's put on weight and looks healthier than in months,” says Janis. “I know it's not been easy for her, but she's buckled down and decided the drug-taking has to stop. There is light shining from the darkness that wasn't there a few weeks ago. It's fantastic. I've got my darling Amy back." Amy who won five Grammys on Sunday night, performed via a live-link looking confident and clean – and even her brother Alex spoke of his joy at Amy's comeback. Alex Winehouse said, "For the first time in God knows how long, my parents were truly happy and Amy was too... She was as bright and vivacious as she had been before the demons took over. She didn't miss crack, she told me, and was glad to be rid of it." Janis also reveals how hard it's been for Amy, who has had to undergo old-fashioned cold turkey treatment. She says, "There was no weaning off, so it was painful and unpleasant. The staff told me she had been sick many times. It's sad, but in the long run it's for the best. Even though she's been very sick, Amy's built-up a good rapport with staff. They say she's determined to get better... You can never say someone won't return to drugs, but I think Amy now knows drugs only lead to self-destruction."
 
Paris’ brother in drink-driving drama
Paris Hilton’s brother Barron was arrested on suspicion of drink driving last night, after he allegedly knocked down a petrol station attendant. The 18-year-old, who was drving a black Mercedes, is said to have swerved off the road onto the petrol station forecourt and hit Fernando Pellez at 6am yesterday. LA police confirmed that Barron was freed on bail following the incident. Pellez was unhurt in the incident. Meanwhile, his sis is causing a stir, too, and a certain Mr Robbie Williams ain’t happy. The Hollywood party girl has moved down the road from Robbie to disturb his peaceful existence in sleepy Mullholland Estates in LA. The Robster is said to be livid that the blonde heiress is to be his new neighbour and ignored her when he spotted her in the area this week.

EastEnders star attacked outside nightclub
Lacey Turner who plays Stacey in EastEnders has been punched in the head outside Destiny club in Watford. The atttack was so vicious she is said to have dropped to the floor "like a sack of potatoes". The actress was with her co-star Aaron Sidwell who plays Steve Beale when a row broke out in a nearby supermarket car park just after 2am. An onlooker said, "There were a few words exchanged and suddenly one of the blokes lashed out. He hit her with a very powerful punch – it knocked her right to the ground. She looked really shaken and had to be helped to her feet." It's thought Lacey and Aaron left the club because of a group of men pestering Lacey. Last night Lacey was at home recovering from the incident. Friends of the actress claim she was not involved in a fight but stumbled after being "accidentally clipped" by a man outside the club. Lacey was not seriously hurt and has not reported the incident to police.

Kylie is style queen yet again
Kylie Minogue was named Woman Of The Year at the Elle Style Awards in London last night. The pop princess can do no wrong in the style stakes and looked stunning in a grecian-inspired frock as she picked up another fashion gong.There was also success for Atonement star Keira Knightley, who was pipped to a Bafta at last weekend's ceremony – Keira won Best Actress, while her Atonement co-star James McAvoy was named Best Actor.
