Mark's best friend in emotional plea
 Mark Speight's best friend has made a public plea for the TV presenter to get in contact. Stu Goldsmith, who's been friends with 42-year-old Mark since their schooldays in Wolverhampton, said, "I fear that he is on the edge of a breakdown. All I am doing is asking him to come forward because his family are so worried about him. I have no idea where he is at the moment. All I hope is that he's all right." Mark, who is distraught over the death of his fiancee Natasha Collins has been missing since Monday afternoon, when he failed to show up for a meeting with Natasha' s mother, Carmen.
 
Kylie’s US flop
Kylie Minogue has yet to realise her dream of cracking America. The singer’s album X has bombed across the pond, reaching only number 139 in the US album chart. This is despite Kylie's appearances on Oprah and a number of other high-profile chat shows. The Aussie pop star has been eclipsed by Leona Lewis, who has already bagged a US Number One with Bleeding Love and looks set to take the album chart by storm too. Oh dear, Kylie, we still love you.

Gwyneth on marriage trouble rumours
Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken out to defend her marriage. The actress, married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, has been dogged by rumours that her marriage is in trouble but strenuously denies them, insisting she feels whole as a wife and mother to her two children Apple and Moses. The couple are rarely spotted together, but Gwyneth says they value their privacy so much that they go to great pains not to be seen. Asked why she hadn't spoken out before, she said, "[Chris] gets furious if I say something about him."

Gethin meets the Doctor
Gethin Jones, who we told you earlier in the week was leaving Blue Peter, has his first role lined up already. The Welsh hunk has a part in Doctor Who. Gethin, who has already appeared in the BBC’s sci-fi hit as a Cyber-man, returns in episode 12 or 13 of the current series. “I’ve already done it it was a good day of filming. I love the show,” said Gethin. He won’t reveal who or what he will be playing, but we hope it involves wearing as little as possible.
