Peaches' secret overdose:
Shocking reports have emerged today which claim that Peaches Geldof stopped breathing and had to be given mouth-to-mouth by a pal after a suspected drug overdose. Emergency crews raced to the scene in Camden, north London on Sunday, but after Peaches came round she refused to go into hospital. The 19-year-old began sobbing hysterically after she was revived, but then became aggressive towards the paramedics, telling them to leave her alone and “respect her personal space”. Pals say she was terrified that dad Sir Bob would find out what had happened – he has previously said he would go "ballistic" if Peaches was to get involved with drugs. A source revealed, "Peaches could not breathe for several minutes after suffering a respiratory arrest. Her friend had to give chest pumps and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. If she had not received this she could have died. There is no doubt her friend saved her life." Ambulance crews confirmed the call-out, but said, "Following assessment, the patient did not need hospital treatment." The thing which makes this story all the more shocking is of course the fact that Peaches mum Paula Yates actually died from a drug overdose in 2000. Peaches is very like her mum in both looks and temperament, and now it appears that for some unknown reason the young rising star is making the same mistakes her mother did. Despite being back on the red carpet last night at the new Batman premiere, it cannot be denied that Peaches clearly needs some help. We can only hope that this latest scare will knock some sense into her.

Christian Bale accused of assaulting own family
He was busy greeting fans on the red carpet in Leicester Square last night, but today Batman star Christian Bale has some serious questions to answer. The 34-year-old Brit is due to be questioned by police over a complaint of assault – made by the actor's own mother and sister. He is alleged to have lashed out on Sunday night at the posh Dorchester Hotel where he is currently staying. The star's mum Jenny and sister Sharon went to a police station in Hampshire yesterday to lodge the allegation, but police decided not to move in and question Christian until after the lavish Batman premiere. A source confirmed, "It would have been wrong to have wrecked a premiere over a complaint which we don't yet know is founded in truth." Bale is expected to be questioned today. Last night he cut a melancholy figure on the red carpet, and told waiting reporters that he missed co-star Heath Ledger, saying, "I still miss him. I just miss him, that's all." He went on to urge audiences to see the movie as a celebration of Heath's talent. The Batman movie The Dark Knight has broken box-office records in the US already, and Heath's performance as The Joker is being hailed by some as "the best performance of a villain, ever".
 
Kerry's mum fails to show up in court
The court case involving Kerry Katona's mum crashes on, with the latest revelation being that she actually had £46,000 – despite continuing to claim benefits. Susan Katona, 48, has admitted claiming over £5,000 in income support, as well as earning thousands from selling stories about her famous daughter. She failed to show up for sentencing for the SECOND time yesterday, claiming that she can't leave the house due to her agoraphobia. Judge Bridget Knight said yesterday, "The sooner she faces the outside world the better." Kerry herself now refuses to have contact with her mother. Sentencing will now take place on 4 August – well, it will if she turns up...

Jack Tweed faces jail
Jade Goody’s charming ex-boyfriend Jack Tweed was convicted yesterday of attacking a 16-year-old boy with a golf club – and could go to jail. 21-year-old Jack and his 29-year-old friend James Mattock wanted to teach Daniel Steele “a lesson” because Jade, who Jack was still dating at the time, was having problems with teenagers in the area. Jade and Jack were living together in Ongar, Essex, where the incident took place, at the time of the December 2006 attack, but have since split. Jack and his pal have denied the assault charges, but will be sentenced on 1 September.
