Christian Bale released without charge:
As heatworld reported yesterday, Batman star Christian Bale was arrested yesterday after his mum and sister claimed he had assaulted them. The 34-year-old actor voluntarily went to a police station and was arrested and questioned for four hours before being released on bail without charge. He denies the allegations. The alleged incident took place at London's Dorchester hotel on Sunday night. Bale had booked rooms at the hotel for his mum Jenny and sister Sharon, so they could accompany him to the Dark Knight premiere on Monday evening. However, after the family returned from a meal, things are thought to have gone sour – with Bale's mum Jenny alleging that her son pushed her over. A hotel insider said, "There were no problems in any public areas, and the news about this so-called assault was a shock. No one here had a clue." Police made the decision not to approach Bale before his big premiere, but it is thought the actor knew about the situation before he took to the red carpet. The actor spent four hours at the police station in London where he was photographed and finger-printed, but he was later released pending further enquiries. The star's lawyer said, "Christian Bale attended a police station to assist with an allegation made against him by his mother and sister. Mr Bale, who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout." Meanwhile, back home in Dorest, Bale's mum Jenny told reporters, "There was a family situation but the police are handling it and I cannot say any more." Oh dear. This is all more mysterious and dark than a Batman plot, isn't it?
Sienna's new man: "I've left my wife"
We've all seen the pictures of them cavorting around on beaches and yachts half naked together, but only now has Sienna's latest love interest Balthazar Getty admitted that he's split from his wife. The millionaire oil heir and actor released a statement yesterday which read: "In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the internet which have caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes, indeed, my wife and I have separated." Hmmm, maybe if you didn't want to be "caused great embarrassment" you shouldn't have frolicked so publicly with Sienna, mate... The 33-year-old went on to say, "The breakdown of a marriage is a very difficult and painful experience." Well, you didn't look to be in too much pain in the photos we saw, Mister. Balthazar's wife and mother to his four children – the youngest of whom is just EIGHT MONTHS old – Rosetta, fled the couple's LA home as soon as the pictures of her husband and Sienna surfaced. She is said to be "devastated" over what's happened. Sienna has found herself heavily criticised over this apparent fling, and her ex Rhys Ifans is reportedly still in turmoil over the couple's break-up.
Another drug scandal for Peaches
Peaches Geldof is back in the spotlight – after she allegedly left a shopping list of drugs scrawled on a note in a pub. Bob Geldof's daughter, whose mother Paula Yates tragically died of a drugs overdose, is said to have written down a cocktail of drugs, including weed, coke and Viagra(!), but failed to take the note with her when she left. She even wrote her name on the top of the A4 piece of paper. This latest incident comes just days after she suffered a suspected drugs overdose and had to have mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. A spokesperson for Peaches last night said, "We can not speculate on a list when there is no proof that Peaches wrote it."
Jermey Kyle in head-on car smash
TV presenter Jeremy Kyle cheated death when his chauffeur-driven BMW collided with a Mazda sports car. Pictures of the wreckage show one car spinning on it's roof, while witnesses described Jeremy as "shaking like a leaf". The Mazda driver, Darren Shannon, who escaped uninjured from his car after it flipped over the central reservation and ended up upside down in the other lane, said, "Jeremy was just sitting on the verge looking really stunned. He wouldn't say a word. He must have been in shock." Emergency workers who called in an air ambulance said they were stunned that no one was killed in Monday's crash near Blyth, Notts. Jeremy, who was questioned by police, said yesterday, "Thank God no one was injured. In any accident you're shaken, but I'm fine."
