Jennifer Hudson offers reward for missing nephew:
heatworld are still in a state of shock over the news that Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were shot dead this weekend. In addition to the devastating murders, Jennifer's seven-year-old nephew Julian King has also been missing since the shooting, and the distraught star has now offered a $100,000 reward for his safe return. Writing on her MySpace page, Jennifer said, "Thank you all for your prayers and your calls. Please keep praying for our family and that we get [my nephew] Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately." The star's mum Darnell Donerson and her older brother Jason Hudson were found dead at Darnell's home in Chicago on Friday afternoon by Jennifer's older sister Julia. The latest news from the States indicate that police have arrested 27-year-old William Balfour, who is Julia Hudson's ex-husband and the father of missing Julian. The suspect is said to be "not cooperating" but no charges have yet been filed. Many stars have come forward to pledge their support for Jennifer and her family, with even Barack Obama asking people to pray for the family. Jennifer's publicist has released a statement asking for the family to be given some privacy at this difficult time.

Russell and Ross in trouble for obscene calls
It's not the first time he's been in trouble for going a bit too far in his attempt to be funny, but this time Russell Brand may have overstepped the mark. The wild-haired comedian and his Radio 2 colleague Jonathan Ross are both in trouble after leaving a number of obscene messages on a veteran actor's answer phone. Andrew Sachs, who is best known for playing the part of waiter Manuel in classic British comedy Fawlty Towers, was scheduled to be a phone guest on Russell's radio show, but when he failed to answer the phone, Russell and Jonathan Ross decided to leave a cheeky message. Talking to listeners just before he made the call, Russell confided, "In a minute we're going to be talking to Andrew Sachs. The elephant in the room is what Andrew doesn't know is, I've slept with his granddaughter." Russ was referring to model Georgina Baillie, who he slept with in the past. When Andrew then failed to pick up the phone, Ross shouted, "He's f***ed your granddaughter!" before joking that Russell had "enjoyed her on a swing." The pair then went on to leave three more messages, with Ross singing an obscene song and Russell piping up, "I used a condom!". The pair also joked to each other that their antics would leave Andrew feeling "suicidal". Yesterday actor Andrew was said to be "deeply upset and terribly hurt" by the incident, while his granddaughter Georgina was "mortified". Complaints have been flooding in, but the BBC claim that Andrew himself has not made an official complaint. Do you think Russell's gone too far this time, or was it all just meant as a joke?

Who will win the battle of the divas?
Here at heatworld, there's nothing we love more than a good old chart battle, and 3 November is shaping up to be a big one. Four of the music world's biggest divas will all battle it out for the Number One spot, as Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera all release new singles on the same day. Britney's hit Womanizer has been getting a lot of airplay, and she's definitely super-popular at the moment, but will her antics over the past year damage her chances? Leona, who is actually the biggest-selling artist of the year Stateside, ditches the ballads for the up-tempo Forgive Me, while Beyonce will release If I Were A Boy and Christina a track entitled Keeps Getting' Better. We think it's definitely going to be a close race, but who do you think will emerge victorious? Oh, and in other exciting Britney news, rumours are claiming that Britney's X Factor appearance will definitely take place, and that it will be on 29 November. Screeeam! That's, like, only a month away!

Fern: "I seriously considered suicide"
Fern Britton has finally broken her silence on having a gastric band fitted. The This Morning presenter said, "I did it for me – because I wanted to. I didn't feel I had to ring round and let everyone know." Fern, who came under fire for not telling her fans that she had had the band fitted, revealed that it was her husband Phil Vickery who helped her through the difficult time, adding, "Without Phil I couldn't have coped. My love for him is now deeper than ever." Fern, who has previously remained tight-lipped about her personal troubles, also revealed that she has even thought about taking her own life after the birth of her children and the collapse of her first marriage. "I was bloody miserable. Suicidal...There were days I could hardly get out of bed. I was so seriously depressed I needed medication. It was very tough. If I wasn't such a coward I know I would have killed myself. I contemplated it very seriously. I remember sitting in the bath one day thinking 'How many pills have I got in the bottle?'" Fern says. We're glad she made it through her troubles.
