Jade and Jack: "We're getting married"
Aw, some nice news to kick off the morning – Jade Goody is marrying her long-term bloke, Jack Tweed. Jade is currently battling cancer and Jack's in jail, but it's not stopping the two of them planning their future together – and Jade's even buying herself an engagement ring. "He really wanted to buy it himself, but I said he could just pay me back later, that's absolutely fine," Jade told a mate. "Otherwise I'll have to wait." Jack might be a bit of a twerp, but here's hoping that they can get everything together and have a lovely wedding and life together.
Britney will NOT face trial
Britney Spears must be feeling relieved today – the case involving her driving without a valid license has been thrown out of court. The star discovered late yesterday that she will not face a trial on the traffic charges, after the jury failed to reach an unanimous decision. After eight hours of deliberation, the jury were still stuck at 10-2 in favour of Britney's innocence, prompting the judge to declare, "The jury is hopelessly deadlocked, and I declare this a mistrial." Britney's overjoyed lawyer Michael Flanagan was quick to tell waiting reporters, "Today's outcome shows my client did nothing wrong. I consider this a victory. Britney was vindicated in that she took on a system that attempted to make an example of her celebrity." In other good Britney news, the word is that Britney's X Factor appearance is definitely happening, and that it will be her "raunchiest" performance yet. The X Factor's chief choreographer Brian Friedman said yesterday, "Britney is at her best ever and it'll be the raunchiest performance The X Factor has seen. She's back on top of her game." We are so excited about Britney being on The X Factor that we can't even put it into words. We can't frickin' wait!
Russell Brand receives death threats
Now, Russell Brand isn’t one for shying away from controversy (er, he more dances in its arms while snogging its face off) – but now his risque words have caught up with him. Sort of. Following his gags at the MTV VMAs last month about George W Bush and the Jonas Brothers, it seems some viewers were far from amused, and the subsequent death threats have come flooding in. Yes, death threats. Russell explains, “These Christian Republicans were watching me and thought, ‘Well this is no good, I shall do a death threat’. How can you, while watching the telly, think, ‘Oh I don’t enjoy this, no I’m not enjoying this at all,’ then think, ‘Right I’m going to kill him?’ That’s a huge jump.”
Simon Webbe to enter the jungle
It’s our favourite time of year, this, when numerous names are bandied about for the impending I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, and now it’s Simon Webbe from Blue in the frame. While we’ve just got over the fact that he of perfectly-plucked eyebrow Jesse Metcalfe hasn’t signed up to the show, we were delighted to learn Simon has reportedly signed up for a whopping £100,000 fee. But how will his girlfriend Layla (who’s just been kicked off The X Factor with her group Girlband) cope if he’s sent to the Southern Hemisphere wilderness? A source says, “He’s massively excited about the show as he’s been out of the spotlight for a while. Producers want him because he’s a good talker and not afraid to say what’s on his mind. He’s also a former model so he’ll be a bit of eye candy for the ladies.” We can’t WAIT to see Simon with his top off…
