Robbie jets back to sick mum:
Robbie Williams arrived back in the UK secretly this weekend, but unfortunately not for an impromptu Take That gig. The singer rushed back to be beside his beloved mum Jan, who has had to undergo major heart surgery. Robbie, who has always been extremely close to his mum, is expected to be in Britain all over Christmas, and will no doubt stay with his mum in hospital. Jan, 67, underwent a heart bypass operation yesterday, and her condition is now said to be "critical but stable". A hospital spokesman said, "Jan was put in intensive care immediately after the operation, where she'll be monitored extremely closely. If all goes well she might be discharged by New Year." We hope you get well soon, Jan.

Alexandra breaks Leona's record...
Not content with winning The X Factor and breaking the record for the fastest-selling download, like, ever, Alexandra Burke has gone and broken another record. After storming to the top of the Christmas charts this weekend, Alexandra's hit Hallelujah officially became the fastest-selling single by a female in UK chart history. It's the same record previously held by fellow X Factor champ Leona, but Alexandra smashed through that amount with a whopping 576,000 sales. In fact, the single out-sold the rest of the entire top 20! Pretty impressive stuff. Alexandra herself is quite obviously thrilled, saying exuberantly, "This is the best week of my life!" As well as Alexandra's record-breaking feat, this week also sees another chart first. Two versions of the same track are occupying the number one and two slots, with Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah coming in just behind Alexandra's. Did you buy either of the songs, or maybe both? And are you happy with Alexandra getting to number one?

...And gets a swish new pad
In other Alexandra news...the chart topper is set to move in with her new BFF Ruth Lorenzo. The duo will move into a trendy riverside penthouse flat in London in the New Year. A source revealed, "Alex isn't ready to live by herself yet. She and Ruth have become firm friends in the past three months. Ruth's been an absolute rock. They will look out for one another, and keep each other grounded. It's an incredible time for Alex – she's living in the most exciting time of her life. The new apartment, which they're currently renting, reflects the lifestyle to which she will soon become accustomed." But the lovely Alex isn't just thinking of herself – she has also bought new furniture for her mum, Melissa Bell, at the home she used to share in north London.

Rachel gutted about losing Strictly
Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Rachel Stevens has told how she cried her eyes out after losing the final. The former S Club 7 singer had to be rushed from the studios when Tom Chambers was crowned the winner. She said, "Everything was too much. I bawled – I was a blubbering wreck. My mum said, 'You're a winner to me, I can't tell you how well you've done, you've inspired me.' Alex was the same. He took me away and gave me a hug... I was so elated to get through to the final two. But I did stand there just thinking, 'Please say Rachel and Vincent'."
