Guy gets £35million from Madge (and a visit from A-Rod)
Madonna and Guy's divorce may have been speedy and costly – Madonna is said to have paid Guy a whopping £35million in the divorce settlement – but it seems the pair have reached an agreement to spend Christmas together with the kids in England. But don't fool yourselves for long, it's not quite as it seems... Reports today suggest that while Madge has agreed to come back to England for the festive season, the proviso is that she brings American baseball star Alex Rodriguez with her. Ever heard of two's company, three's a crowd, Madge? Madonna has been linked to Alex for some time, but as yet neither will confirm they are officially an item. A source has now revealed that Madge asked Alex to join her in London and wants to treat him by putting him up in a top hotel. The source says, "She wants the kids to be with their parents, but wants time with A-Rod too." As yet, Guy and Madonna have not reached an agreement over custody of the children, but it was originally thought Madonna would spend Christmas time in New York. The source adds, "The kids are the biggest thing and she'll plan for them, but still have a bit of the Christmas she wanted."

Final night takes its toll on Cheryl
We were all feeling a bit emotional during Saturday's X Factor final, but none so much as judge Cheryl Cole. The tearful Girls Aloud star has now found herself the subject of much concern from fans, who are worried about her emotional and frail appearance. Cheryl broke down in tears at several points throughout the evening on Saturday, and when her act Alexandra was announced the winner she was seen hugging her tight and crying. In fact, she seemed to be more emotional than Alexandra herself. It's no secret that Cheryl has put her all into her role as a mentor, and Alexandra yesterday referred to her as more of a "friend" than anything else. A source from the ITV show explained, "Cheryl has been under an enormous amount of pressure during the ten weeks of The X Factor. She worked herself up as she got Alexandra ready for the final." Unlike the other three judges, Cheryl must have understood exactly what the finalists were going through, as she's been in similar situation herself. The ITV source continued, "Even after Alex won, it seemed that she was taking care of Cheryl, rather than the other way round." However, despite her wobbly appearance, the source is convinced Cheryl will be fine. "She just needs some well-deserved rest and TLC," they said. Well, at least it's Christmas now and Cheryl can put her feet up.

Strictly bosses back down after complaints
After saying that no refunds would be given and that votes would simply be carried over, BBC Strictly Come Dancing bosses have now backed down and agreed that viewers will be compensated for their wasted votes. An uproar was caused over the weekend after hot favourite Tom Chambers was marked so low by the judges that he would definitely face the dance-off, even if he got more public votes than the other remaining finalists. Yesterday, at least 2,000 people complained to the BBC after Sunday night's eviction was cancelled, and not many viewers were happy that votes would be carried over. In a Strictly first, there will now be three acts in the final; Tom Chambers, Lisa Snowdon and Rachel Stevens. BBC Entertainment Chief Jon Beazley has now admitted the mistake was "unacceptable", but strongly denied any claims of a fix. Geri gets a Xmas snog!
It's not just us pedestrians who embarrassingly cop off with a fellow work colleague at the Christmas party and then avoid eye contact for the whole of the New Year. Pictures have emerged of Geri Haliwell at a festive bash, locking lips with a mystery fella, known only as Walter. Ooh, we like the name. Geri was at a party to launch fashion pal Roberto Cavalli's first nightclub in Florence, Italy – but she was snapped getting very friendly with the young man. Wonder if she’s pacing round her kitchen now, waiting for him to text her?!
