Simon's plan to help Cheryl crack America:
He's already been instrumental in making her an even huger star over here, and now Simon Cowell is determined to help Cheryl Cole crack America – even hiring special lawyers to help her. The X Factor supremo is reported to be doing everything in his power to sort out a working visa for the Geordie Girls Aloud star, as he believes she would be a huge hit over in the States. Due to that unfortunate incident with a toilet attendant five years ago, Cheryl has a criminal record and this can make getting a visa extremely tricky. A source revealed, "Simon was dazzled by Cheryl's performance on The X Factor. He's certain he can turn her into a global star, but he just needs to iron out her visa problem." The music mogul has hired a firm of Miami-based experts to look into the problem for him, and he's confident that Cheryl's impeccable behaviour since the toilet incident will stand her in good stead. Well, what Simon Cowell wants he usually gets, so we'll expect to see Cheryl on Oprah's sofa by the end of the year...
Katy vs Lily: round two!
She may be off sunning herself in the Caribbean with a new man, but Lily Allen has still found time to have yet another pop at her music rival Katy Perry. If you remember, the feud all kicked off after Katy referred to herself as "a thin Lily Allen" during an interview, and the London-born singer did not take kindly to the comment. Lily has now turned to her Facebook page to issue her latest warning to Katy, writing: "I have Katy Perry's number, someone did me a favour. I'm just waiting for her to open her mouth one more time then it hits Facebook." We assume she means opening her mouth in relation to Lily, and not just opening it to breathe and eat and stuff. As well as her little warning, Lily also joined two groups on the popular networking site, including, "I hate Katy Perry and her dumbass song I Kissed A Girl", and "Katy Perry. Who in the hell does she think she is?" Wow, she <really> doesn't like her, does she? Over to you, Katy...
Leona to release autobiography
As if being the darling of the music world in 2008 wasn’t enough for Leona Lewis, the X Factor winner of yesteryear is turning her hand to literature. The singer will pen an autobiographical account of her rise to stardom (despite being only 23), from her days serving up deep pan pizzas in her local Pizza Hut to being an international singing superstar, beloved of such eminent celebrities as Oprah Winfrey. Woo. She says, “The last two years have been an unbelievable experience for me. So to have it documented in pictures and to be able to tell people in my own words what it feels like means a lot to me. I know the book will be full of special moments and I’m already having a brilliant time putting it together.”
Paris to name her baby London
It’s official – we heart Paris Hilton. And Paris Hilton hearts the UK even more. So much so, she wants to name one of her children after our capital city. Hurrah! She says, “I’d love to have children in the next two years. I’d like three or four. I want a boy first, to watch over my girls, and I’ll name my first girl London – I love that name.” Paris Hilton, London Hilton… what city should be next on the hit list?
