Michael Jackson suffering from skin superbug
It has bee,n revealed today that moon-walking pop superstar Michael Jackson is suffering from an aggressive form of the disease MRSA, known as a "staph infection" which has attacked his skin. The star has been having treatment for the superbug at a clinic in Beverly Hills but, due to the nature of the disease, it is feared that it may develop into a nasty flesh-eating bug, which could mean Jacko would have to undergo serious reconstructive surgery. The 50 year old is thought to have contracted the disease during an operation on his nose, and it is so serious that normal antibiotics aren't working, so the star is having to be treated through an IV drip. A source revealed, "The infection has spread throughout his face and body and is being aggressively treated by doctors." Jacko was pictured leaving the clinic yesterday wearing his trademark shades and surgical mask, but it was still apparent that both his hands and one side of his face were swollen and inflamed. MRSA attacks victims by going into wounds and preventing them from healing, and in the worse case secenario Michael's nose could even cave in completely. We sincerely hope that doesn't happen, and that he makes a full recovery very soon.
Coleen escapes hotel fire drama
There was drama in London last night as a fire broke out in the swanky suite Coleen Rooney was staying in at the plush May Fair Hotel. Coleen, who was thankfully out of the hotel when the fire started, had a lucky escape as the blaze meant over 500 guests and staff had to be evacuated. No one was injured in the blaze, and firefighters managed to get everything under control very quickly. Coleen's spokesman said last night, "She is safe and well. There was smoke and fire in her suite but none of her possessions were damaged." It's thought that the fire was caused by an electrical fault. A source from the May Fair Hotel said, "It was just a small fire in one room." Still, it's rather scary stuff. We bet Coleen's feeling very lucky this morning.
Myleene shaken by car crash
Myleene Klass had a lucky escape on the way to a breakfast meeting when a lorry ploughed into the back of her Audi convertible and then sped off. According to her manager Jonathan Shalit, "She stopped at a red light and the lorry behind her hit her. She pulled over expecting the driver to swap details, but he took one look at her, jumped back into his cab and sped off. Perhaps it was because he recognised her, or because of the damage – there’s at least £2,000 worth of repairs. Myleene was very shaken by the incident but still made it to the the breakfast as she didn’t want to let anyone down. What a trouper!
Jason quits DOI tour
Dancing On Ice's Mr Nasty Jason Gardiner has thrown the live tour version of the show into chaos after deciding to quit. The Aussie judge, who is extremely popular with audiences of both the TV show and the live show, is famous for his cutting comments and scathing put-downs. It is feared that his decision to quit the live shows will affect the number of people keen to attend. A source from DOI said last night, "There was a big row between Jason and the tour promoters over contract negotiations. In the end Jason told them to stuff it." The other four judges will still appear on the live tour, as well as famous skaters Torvill and Dean and a host of celebrity contestants, including man of the moment Todd Carty. Do you think the show will be less fun without Jason, or is Todd enough to keep anyone entertained?
