BGT's Shaheen: "Susan Boyle will be hard to beat"
This weekend saw another star emerge from Britain's Got Talent – but does he have the weight to take on Susan Boyle? Well, he seems to think so. Talking about his hopes, 12-year-old Shaheen Jagargholi says, "I'm so focused on what I want to do. I won't end up doing drugs or drinking or anything bad like that." Bless him. Shaheen had a slightly shaky start to his audition, with Simon Cowell halting his rendition of Valerie and asking him to sing something else instead. Shaheen chose the Jackson 5 hit Who's Loving You – and it went down a storm. Now the bookies are predicting that Shaheen has almost a good a chance as Susan Boyle of winning the show, and he's picked up a few famous fans already as well. Demi Moore posted a link to his performance on her Twitter page and wrote, "This kid is something else!" All this and it's only week two. We're excited.
Harassed Susan Boyle gets a minder
Britain's Got Talent overnight sensation Susan Boyle has been given a personal security guard. The 48 year old, whose audition performance of I Dreamed A Dream has now been viewed over 40 million times *chokes up tea*, is struggling to cope with her sudden celebrity status. Fans had kept gathering at Susan's West Lothian home asking for autographs, so the BGT producers provided her with a minder just for safety. She has been urged to keep a low profile, and when she did emerge from her house to go to Church, the strain was clear on her face. We can't say we blame her. It must feel as if she's slipped into some sort of parallel universe.
Madonna hospitalised after fall from horse
The Queen of Pop spent most of this weekend in hospital, after being thrown from a horse in front of friends. The star, who once broke her wrist and some ribs after a separate fall, has now claimed that a lurking photographer who spooked her mount was to blame for the incident, although this has been denied. Madonna was taken to hospital where she remained as tests were done, but she spent last night recovering at her pal Gwyneth Paltrow's pad in New York. In other celebs-on-horses news, Jordan was forced to pull out of a charity polo match this weekend after injuring her knee. It's worrying news for the busty mum, as she is also due to be running the London Marathon this Sunday. We hope both ladies are back on their feet soon.
Lady GaGa stirs up a storm...over a teacup
Lady GaGa's unmistakable quirkiness is one of the reasons we like her so much, but we're not very impressed with her latest reported diva tantrum. The singer is alleged to have thrown a strop after leaving her precious teacup and saucer in a London restaurant over the weekend. LG takes the teacup everywhere with her, and was even sipping from it while chatting to Jonathan Ross on Friday night, but she's never let on as to why she's so attached. After realising the crockery was missing, a source claims she "kicked up a stink and demanded someone get it back". Ooer. An official spokesperson has since commented on the matter, saying, "Lady GaGa does not reveal anything about the teacup itself." Weird or what?
