The Hoff denies alcohol poisoning claim:
David Hasselhoff yesterday denied reports that he was rushed to hospital with alcohol poisoning, claiming this weekend's incident was "grossly exaggerated" by his ex-wife. Reports were that The Hoff was taken into hospital after his 16-year-old daughter Hayley found him "barely breathing" at his home in LA and called her mum to help. A source revealed, "This is about the seventh time he's been taken to a hospital over the past few years with alcohol poisoning." However, The Hoff's official "people" have since issued a statement saying, "Mr Hasselhoff was at no time in the condition described in those stories. Mr Hasselhoff spoke to his attorneys on Sunday, and was absolutely fine. However, Mr Hasselhoff is both disturbed and saddened by the fact that a certain individual is disseminating grossly inaccurate stories about him to the press for ulterior motive." Oh dear. It's not the first time the former Baywatch star has been in the news due to his problems with alcohol. None of us will ever forget that burger-eating video...

Madonna adoption ruling delayed
Madonna was today said to be "pacing like an anxious lioness" as she awaits the decision on her adoption of Malawian tot Mercy James. The appeal hearing was expected to be completed yesterday, but has now been delayed so that a panel can decide "what's best for the child". Madge's lawyers are very confident of victory, saying the original ruling was based on an "outdated law", and Madonna's pals agree, saying, "Mercy already calls her Mummy and cries for her. It's cruel not to allow them to be together." A man claiming to be Mercy's biological father, James Kambewa, is attempting to block the star's adoption, saying she is an "unfit mother" and that Mercy should be raised in Malawi. Leona flees Hollywood because of stalker
You know you’ve made it in celebland when you pick up your very own stalker – and sadly for Leona Lewis, she’s been forced to move out of her flash Hollywood home because of a creepy man. Leona had only lived in the house for six days, but is now back in London while security around her is stepped up, after she was followed home by an undesirable. A source says, “Leona had just gone to the shops to pick up some bits and pieces and was followed all the way back home by this man. She was completely unsettled by this and was pretty relieved to get back to the house safely. But when she looked out of the window later, the man was still there, staring right at her.” Eek.
 
Danielle Lloyd gets beaten up
The rules of life dictate that you don’t mess with a woman scorned – something Danielle Lloyd has learned to her peril. Danielle was allegedly punched in the face by her boyfriend’s ex’s friends during a scuffle in a nightclub on Sunday. The brawl took place at the delightful-sounding Funkymojoe bar in Essex (where else?), with pals of Sade Metcalfe – who used to date Danielle’s man, footballer Jamie O’Hara, before Danielle "stepped in" – reportedly hitting Danielle in the face. A spokesperson for Danielle says, “She has a swelling and an injury to her lip. She was absolutely shocked and horrified at what happened. She and Jamie had had a lovely weekend and she was attacked for no reason.” Police are investigating the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.
