Chanelle in hospital after overdose:
Big Brother 8 star Chanelle Hayes was rushed to hospital last night, after taking an overdose of paracetamol and red wine. The 21-year-old is thought to have had a big argument with her footballer boyfriend Matt Bates shortly before, and she took the pills and the alcohol out of "frustration". Chanelle was taken to hospital near her home in Wakefield, and is expected to return home later today. Friends say the reality star has been arguing a lot with her boyfriend lately, with one saying, "Chanelle had been having boyfriend troubles. They had been arguing a lot, and she was in a terrible way." Last night, Chanelle's Middlesborough player boyfriend was by her side in hospital. Her agent said late last night, "I am looking into this matter. I am unable to comment further at this stage." We'll bring you any updates on Chanelle as soon as we get them.

Katie Price's man wants some money

Yet another charming Katie Price-related story – her new man, Alex Reid, is cashing in on their relationship by appearing in a film. The low-budget flick Kill Me Five started filming in an East London boxing club yesterday, with Jord and Alex flying back from their holiday in Spain specially. Alex's agent Chris Herbert said, "Of course Alex is looking to make a bit of money out of this. There have been lots of offers over the last week." How charming, eh? Katie must be really pleased she's found a man who really wants her for her fame – sorry, for who she is. Ahem.

Tributes flood in for famous director

The film director behind classics such as The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink and Home Alone has died aged just 59. John Hughes collapsed and suffered a heart attack during a morning walk in New York, where he was visiting family. John wrote and directed Home Alone I and II, and also directed the hugely popular coming-of-age film Ferris Bueller's Day Off in the 1980s. Last night actress Molly Ringwald, who starred in two of John's films Pretty In Pink and Sixteen Candles, paid tribute to the director, saying, "I was stunned and incredibly sad to hear about the death of John Hughes. He was and will always be such an important part of my life. He will be missed – by me and by everyone that he has touched. My heart and all my thoughts are with his family now. John leaves his wife of 39 years, two sons John and James and four grandchildren. What is your favourite John Hughes film?

Diversity banned from touring by their mums

Sounds like Diversity are having a bit of a hard time living the rock 'n' roll lifestyle, cos their mums have banned them from touring! Although most of Diversity are over 18, the two youngest boys, Perri, 13, and Mitchell, 12, mean that the dance group's mums have put their foot down to the boys going on the road in case they get mixed up in sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Speaking at a Disney launch yesterday, the divine Ashley Banjo said, "We did a few dates, but it's hard for us as we've got little ones involved. We love meeting people, but we have to think about the little guys in clubs." Lads – you're always welcome to pop into the heatworld office and perform – we're very mum friendly...
