Katie's friends urge her to dump Alex:
Katie Price's close friends have reportedly been begging their pal to dump her new man Alex Reid, after shots of him in a violent film appeared over the weekend. Those close to Katie fear her association with cage-boxer and bit-part actor Alex will damage her career and public persona, not to mention the effect it's having on her ex Peter Andre. The Behind Closed Doors singer is said to be furious over this latest revelation, with one friend saying, "He can't believe his children are spending time in the presence of this man." Katie and Alex flew out of the UK for Spain last night for a short break, and looked as close as ever. A spokesman for Alex Reid has slammed the release of the movie stills, claiming they have been "taken completely out of context", and that the former Hollyoaks' star *cough* is even considering legal action. EastEnders' star's dad found hanged
EastEnders' actress Samantha Janus was last night said to be "distraught", after her father was discovered hanged at his home. The 36-year-old, who plays feisty Ronnie Mitchell in the hit BBC soap, had a strained relationship with her dad, who had long suffered with depression. Last night she was too upset to comment as she visited his flat to collect some belongings. Sam's dad admitted a few months ago that being left out of the magazine snaps of her wedding was "like a dagger to the heart". He was found hanged in his bathroom, at home in Brighton, and the official line at the moment is that it's a suspected suicide. Last night Sam's husband Mark said in a statement, "She [Sam] asks to be left alone to grieve with her family."

Kerry faces the police
Kerry Katona has been warned that the police may come knocking, so it must have come as quite a shock when they did, but for a totally separate reason. It turns out that Kerry's CCTV equipment captured a mugging, which took place outside her property. The elderly lady in question was knocked to the ground and had her bag snatched, and Kerry had luckily recorded the whole thing. She invited the police into her home to collect the tapes and made sure they had everything they needed. Yesterday Kerry's "sister" and long-term close friend Pat told a Sunday newspaper that Kerry's cocaine habit has been out of control for some time, and that she hopes the release of the tape will shock the star into doing something about it. The axed Iceland star admitted this weekend that she's "ashamed" of her actions.

Fury as Oasis pull out of V Festival
There were cries of dismay all across Hylands Park in Chelmsford yesterday, as it was annonced that headliners Oasis would not be performing their second V Festival set, and that Snow Patrol would be stepping in. Many festival-goers claimed they were only there to see Oasis, and that the cancellation had ruined their weekend. The official line was that Liam had contracted a nasty throat infection, but rumours were flying round that it was actually more to do with Noel and Liam having another of their famous fallings-out. It was due to be their last UK gig of the year – and possible ever – so to cancel it was upsetting for the fans. However, there were some good performances at V Festival, not least from a cleaner and non-hammered Amy Winehouse. She got up on stage with The Specials to sing, then later confirmed that she wants to get back with ex-husband Blake. Aaaargh! DON'T do it, Amy!! Were you at V this weekend? What was your highlight?
