Matt Lucas has pulled out of the West End play in which he's currently starring until further notice, it has been confirmed. The comedian is said to be devastated at the apparent suicide of his ex-husband Kevin McGee, who was found hanged in his Edinburgh flat yesterday. The play, entitled Prick Up Your Ears, has been described as a "violent tale of destructive love" and sees Matt Lucas' character kill his lover before taking his own life. The play's producers released a statement following the news, saying, "Our thoughts are with Matt whom we are in constant touch with. Until further notice, his role of Kenneth Halliwell in the West End production of Prick Up Your Ears will be played by his understudy, Michael Chadwick." Matt himself has yet to release an official statement.
