Simon Cowell celebrates his birthday in style:
Smon Cowell's 50th birthday bash took place on Saturday night – and it was certainly an eventful party. The theme for the night was, rather bizarrely (but not really surprisingly), Simon Cowell himself, and there were pictures of the music mogul everywhere. Even the waiting staff on the night wore Simon Cowell masks, and Topshop boss Sir Phillip Green had arranged for a 30ft image of Simon to be projected up the front of the 18th century mansion where the party was held. Entertainment came in the form of performances from Leona Lewis and Westlife, plus a hologram of Frank Sinatra singing New York, New York. The boozing went on until well into the early hours of Sunday morning, and guests including Cheryl Cole, Dannii Mongue, David Hasselhoff, Louis Walsh, Myleene Klass, Sharon Osbourne, Ant and Dec, Dermot O'Leary, David Walliams and James Corden all looked rather worse for wear as they headed home. We'll bring you more gossip and pictures from the party throughout the day.
Bookshops plan to boycott Jordan's new autobiography
A number of big-name bookshops have said they may take the step of refusing to stock Katie Price's upcoming autobiography, because they don't want to be seen to rip off their customers. Katie Price has already released three autobiographies in four years – the first of which sold over one million copies – but some store bosses think this latest tome is one paragraph too far. "Bookshop managers are really worried," said a source from the publishing world. "They fear this latest book could do more harm than good for business." Both Katie and Peter have announced separate book projects in the past week, and both will tell the story of their divorce. The source went on to claim, "Reputable companies do not want to get dragged into a sordid sales war where bitter partners are dishing the dirt on each other." Oh dear. Will YOU be buying either Katie or Peter's new books?
New Sugababes have their first bust-up
They've been together for less than two weeks, but already there's trouble in the all-new Sugababes' camp. The girls have reportedly had their first major falling out – all because Amelle's mobile kept going off. The trio were at a shoot in London when the argument happened, and Heidi and Jade became fed up with Amelle after she held up proceedings by answering her phone. In the end the shoot was delayed by two hours so all three girls could "calm down". A source said afterwards, "Their management had to come down hard on the girls and tell them to behave." Dear, oh dear. What IS it with the Sugababes?!
Furious Rav Wilding shuns Strictly after-party
A grumpy Rav Wilding refused to attend the Strictly party on Saturday night, after he was unceremoniously given the boot by the judges. Rav ended up in the bottom two against Oxo advert star Lynda Bellingham, but she beat him in the end after Craig Revel-Horwood compared his arms to that of an orangutan. Furious Rav was unashamedly gutted to be voted off so early, and has since claimed that his fans were unable to get through on the phones. The BBC, however, have denied this since. Writing on his Twitter page late on Saturday, Rav said, "Gutted. So sorry folks." Do YOU think Rav was the right choice to go? We're just relieved there's still some male totty to gawp at in the shape of Ricky Whittle...
