Katie Price vs Claire Powell – it's getting nasty:
Peter Andre's manager Claire Powell last night spoke out about her fury towards his ex Katie Price, after the star made further comments alluding to an affair. Katie had already joked on The Graham Norton Show that Peter was sleeping with Claire, and yesterday she revealed in a magazine that Claire was partly to blame for the breakdown of her marriage. However, a furious Claire – who has been engaged to her partner for over two years – has had enough, and is taking legal advice. "This is a total lie," she says angrily. "I'm seeing my lawyers now. No one can take what she says seriously. She has to find someone to blame for the marriage break-up. I am not that person." Pals close to Katie are also claiming that her relationship with cage fighter Alex Reid is on the verge of ending, after she talked openly about their sex life during a TV interview. Oh dear...
Boyzone to appear on The X Factor
Boyzone are allegedly in talks to make a special appearance on The X Factor, where they will perform a tribute to Stephen Gately. Last year Stephen reportedly begged Louis to secure them a slot on the show because he was such a huge fan, so it would be a fitting tribute to have the lads perform in his memory. A show insider revealed, "Stephen was a very close friend of the show, and the huge outpouring of grief is hard to ignore. It would be a very emotional night for everyone." It also emerged yesterday that Stephen ended a ten-year rift with his mum shortly before his tragic death. He hadn't spoken to her for years after she talked to the press about him coming out as gay, but his brother had managed to talk him round and the pair were close again.
Simon Cowell's land of leather
Simon Cowell has splashed out over £20,000 on cowhide walls for his – get this – dressing room at The X Factor. As well as the fancy walls, he has also installed a huge bathroom done in marble, and there are mirrors all over the place. There's a running joke at The X Factor that you're only in the "inner circle" once you've been invited to Simon Cowell's dressing room for a drink, and even huge stars such as Whitney Houston and Robbie Williams had to make do with fairly standard rooms. Simon insists that the room be kept cool so he doesn't start sweating, and he is also permitted to indulge in his favourite habit...smoking. Sigh. How the other half live, eh?
Diana Vickers is a West End hit
The X Factor's Diana Vickers last night received a standing ovation for her debut performance in West End musical The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice. The willowy 18 year old came fourth in the ITV talent show last year, and this is her first major job since. Take That's Mark Owen, who wrote the song Sunlight for the show, raved about the teen's performance, saying, "She sounds fantastic!" Shame she couldn't bag a part for Eoghan Quigg...
