Matt Lucas' ex had severe cocaine problem:
Matt Lucas was still holed up at his London flat last night following the tragic news that his ex-husband Kevin McGee had been found hanged. Sources have since claimed that the TV producer had long struggled with a drug problem, and that at the time of his death he had allegedly developed a five-grammes-a-day addiction to cocaine. Matt Lucas had reportedly funded a rehab programme for Kevin as he was desperate for his former lover to beat the drugs, but friends say it proved unsuccessful. "It didn't work," explains one friend. "Kevin loved his drink, drugs and men." Matt was last night being comforted by close friends David Walliams and Jimmy Carr, while friends of Kevin's have flooded his Facebook page with messages. One, from Little Britain producer Jon Plowman, read: "RIP. I'm really sorry and I wish it wasn't too late to help."

Sugababes deny problems after cancelling first gig
The Sugababes have denied rumours that their new line-up is already having any problems, after they were forced to pull out of the Scottish Royal Variety Show. The girls were due to perform live for the first time at the event, but now say they can't due to legal reasons. "I haven't signed a contract so we can't perform as Sugababes," explains new member Jade Ewen. "The previous line-up signed up to do the show and there's money involved. Until lawyers get this sorted, I can't sing with the band. It's really annoying – I'm raring to go!" The girls have promised to perform a show for the Royal Blind Society to make up for missing the Variety Show.

Lindsay Lohan has a drug problem, claims dad
Lindsay Lohan's notoriously gob-happy dad Michael has claimed in a new interview that his famous daughter is hooked on prescription drugs. "It's not just drink and illegal drugs that kill you," he ranted yesterday. "You know why Lindsay's not acting in feature films right now? It's because she can't. When you hug her she's, like, vacant inside." Michael went on to preach, "Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop than illegal drugs." Lindsay herself is yet to comment on all this.

Lily and Katy kept apart at Paris Fashion Week
It's been a tough week for organisers of the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week. Not only have they had a whole runway show and after-party to sort out, but they were also instructed to keep guest of honour Lily Allen and her rival Katy Perry as far away from each other as possible. The girls have been feuding ever since Katy referred to herself as "a skinnier Lily Allen", and this week there was a military operation to keep them apart. "Very senior people had to smooth things out so there was no embarrassing scene," blabbed one insider. "Chanel did not want to offend anyone." Is it wrong that we sort of wish they'd had a punch-up on the runway?
