Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson has opened up about the true nature of his relationship with co-star Kristen Stewart in a new interview, saying again – and adamantly – that the pair are simply good friends. Talking to Vanity Fair, Rob says, "We're good friends! I think she's the best young actress around." Talking about all the rumours that the pair are secretly an tem, Rob laughs, "I've been literally across the country [from Kristen] and it's like, 'Oh, they're on secret dates!' It's like, 'Where? I can't even get out of my hotel room'." Rob does admit that he's close to Kristen, but mostly because she's the only person going through the same stuff as him. "She's influenced how I've done all the Twilight stuff. It's quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything." Rob also goes on to laugh at his sex-symbol status, which he clearly finds embarrassing, saying he looks like "a blob" or a "cartoon character". Rob admits he's finding fame difficult to cope with, too, telling Vanity Fair, "I'm trying not to drown. I guess I'm not the type of guy cut out to do a franchise. I'm not much of a crowd person." Poor Rob. Something tells us crowds are the one thing he's going to be faced with as the release date of New Moon creeps ever nearer.
