Cheeky Girls: ‘We’re better than Jedward’ Um, OK then...
The Cheeky Girls have launched a scathing attack on X Factor hopefuls John & Edward, claiming the boys are being given an unfair advantage by the show's judges. Similarly to Jedward, the Cheeky twins also found fame through their appearance on TV talent show Pop Stars: The Rivals, but they're claiming to be much more talented. "They'll never have a song on the radio like us," bitched Monica. "Our fan base is much wider. They don't even have a proper name!" Um, aren't John and Edward more "proper" names than Cheeky Girls? Anyway, Gabriela then added, "They really can't sing – they're totally out of tune. But they have the best stage set-up of the whole show. It is not fair towards the other acts. John & Edward needn't worry too much, though, as they have fans in much higher places. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are said to find Jedward "hilarious", and have even bagged tickets to watch them on the show this weekend. We reckon they'll survive without the Cheeky Girls...
Harvey does not have swine fly, say doctors
Doctors yesterday confirmed that Katie Price's son Harvey is not suffering from swine flu, as was originally thought. The eight-year-old was admitted to hospital earlier this week with breathing difficulties, and he will remain there until medical staff are happy he's recovered. Sources are claiming that Katie begged Peter to meet up with her regularly, after he turned up at the hospital to see Harvey. However, friends say Pete is still "too angry" about the whole thing to want to spend any extra time with Katie. We hope Harvey is feeling better very soon.
Anna Friel makes her audience sick
Actress Anna Friel almost fluffed her lines in the theatre this week, after a member of the audience threw up over the balcony. Anna says she heard "such a noise" coming from the spectators, that she almost lost her way in the song. She originally assumed it was people arriving late, but it later became apparent that six poor people had been sitting right underneath where the poorly person hurled. Anna, who's playing the lead in Breakfast At Tiffany's, told Smooth Radio, "It turned out someone had vomited from the balcony over six people. I carried on singing but almost lost my way." Urgh! The victims cleaned themselves up and came back for the second half in the end. We think we'd have had to call it a night...
