It's the news!
Jamie Afro "gutted" to get the boot:
Jamie "Afro" Archer became the latest X Factor casualty last night, after losing out in the public vote to fellow contestant Lloyd Daniels. After securing two votes each from the judges (Danni and Simon chose Jamie, Cheryl and Louis chose Lloyd), the deciding vote went again to deadlock and Jamie found himself at the bottom. Simon Cowell said he was "genuinely sorry" to see the big-haired rocker leave, but Jamie himself didn't seem all that surprised. Talking about his eviction afterwards, Jamie said, "It's not the end , it's the beginning. I'm gutted, I really am – but chin up and I hope I have a bright future." While we're not all that shocked about Jamie's departure, we can't help but notice how many lives Lloyd seems to have. It's like a little cat, that one! Over on Strictly Come Dancing it was Phil Tufnell's time to waltz off for good, and he didn't seem too upset about it. "I'm glad that I can put my feet up," he joked. Do YOU think the right people left this weekend?
Katie Price: "I'm going into the jungle for closure"
Katie Price has promised she won't cause any trouble in the I'm A Celeb... jungle, claiming that she's only going on the show to get some peace and quiet. The reality star, who is expected to enter the Aussie jungle today, said yesterday, "I've had a crap year and the fairytale has ended. I'm going in for closure. I'll get some bloody peace and quiet!" Katie says she'd taking part in order to show the public what she's really like, adding, "People think I'm breaking down, I've lost the plot... They've got all these perceptions, but I think that when people see me again, like last time, they'll see I'm grounded." Katie has also said she won't be doing any flirting in camp, because she's far too happy with Alex Reid. "I'm very happy in my relationship," she says. "I want to have fun with everyone." Are you looking forward to Katie entering the jungle?
JLS "devastated" over fans injured at gig
JLS yesterday issued an apology to fans who were injured when a stampede broke out at one of their gigs. The lads were in Birmingham to perform a free show in conjunction with the city's Christmas Lights being switched on, but when an estimated 10,000 too many excited fans arrived, it all got a bit out of hand and many girls were hurt in the crowd. Marvin said yesterday, "We are devastated. We are so, so sad to see that people got injured at the gig." The police took the decision to cancel the whole gig just after the lads took to the stage, with Marvin explaining, "The safety of our fans is so important to us. We're just gutted that everyone's day was ruined. Still, the boys did have something to smile about – they beat Robbie Williams to the top of the album charts yesterday, selling approximately 1,517 copies more than the ex-Take Thatter. Robbie didn't mind, though. He even called to congratulate them. Bless.
Ronan talks about his grief for Stephen Gately
Ronan Keating has talked about how he's coping with Stephen Gately's death for the first time, admitting it's the "single saddest thing" that's ever happened to him. Ronan remembers when he got the call telling him the tragic news, saying, "I completely lost it. I was in hysterics." Ronan says he received a text from Stephen just a few hours before he died, which read, "Got the new songs. Love them pal. Really excited about the new album. Love you straw balls." Straw balls was the nickname he called Ronan. Talking about spending the night in the church with Stephen's coffin, Ronan says, "It was the most moving experience of my life. It was beautiful." The Boyzone singer admits he's still "completely raw" about the tragedy, saying sadly, "It's just really hard to imagine singing without Steo. It's too early."
