Jamie Afro was set up, claim friends:
Friends of axed X Factor contestant Jamie "Afro" Archer are claiming that Simon Cowell "offered him up" to leave, and that the whole thing was a set-up. Jamie left the show after losing out to Lloyd Daniels in the bottom two, but friends say the whole Deadlock thing was planned. "It doesn't take a genius to see how he [Simon] did it," raged one friend. "He stuck him first on the bill which is the worst place to be. He made sure he dressed him in dark clothing so it all looked very drab. And he gave him a very average Queen song in Radio GaGa and left him there on stage on his own." The friend also says that Jamie was "irritated" by the constant put-downs he was getting from Louis, who continually branded him "average". Jamie admitted to us at last night's Rihanna gig (more on that later) that he was still feeling "gutted" about the whole thing, but the presence of Kandy Rain's Coco firmly glued to his arm was certainly cheering him up. Do YOU think Jamie was set up for a fall?
Sugababes comeback WILL happen next year
The original Sugababes have found the perfect person to help them become a huge success again – the same woman who re-launched Katie Price's career. Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan have been rumoured to be reforming for weeks, and now they've enlisted the help of PR guru Claire Powell, who not only looks after Peter Andre, but is also the woman responsible for turning Jordan the glamour model into Katie Price the wife and mother. One source said last night, "The comeback is gathering momentum. They are all game to give it a go." It is thought the girls have already started planning a big comeback for early next year. We can't wait to see what happens, and how the existing Sugababes react.
Jay-Z will help Cheryl crack America
Cheryl Cole has enlisted a major player to help her launch a solo career in the US – none other than the mighty Jay-Z. Hip Hop's richest man has agreed to take Cheryl under his wing, and there are already talks of a collaboration between the two. Cheryl herself is said to be "thrilled", with one pal explaining, "To get Jay-Z's support is beyond her wildest dreams." The collaboration is thanks in part to how well Cheryl got on with Beyonce when the diva performed at The X Factor. The pair have been friends ever since. Do you think Cheryl has what it takes to make it big over the pond?
Tinchy Stryder robbed in car park
Rapper Tinchy Stryder was robbed in a nightclub car park last night, and the thieves made off with almost £10,000 worth of stuff. Blimey, that's a lot of bling. The attack happened at just before 2am in Ilford, Essex. Luckily for Tinchy, his (bigger, we're guessing) friends were on hand to help, and the would-be thieves were held until the police arrived. A spokesman later explained, "Tinchy and his entourage were not involved in any fighting." They picked on the wrong man there, didn't they?
Was Jamie set-up to fail?
