Spice Girls The Musical WILL happen!
After months of rumours and whispering, it was confirmed last night that there is going to be a Spice Girls Musical. The show, which is being created by the the girls themselves, manager Simon Fuller and Mamma Mia mastermind Judy Craymer, is expected to be on the stage within the next three years and all parties involved are very excited. At the moment the project is being referred to as Viva Forever, but it's not yet known what the show will be called when it reaches the stage. The parts of Baby, Posh, Ginger, Sporty and Scary will all be played by actors and the show will feature all the band's biggest hits. Sounds like it's going to great!
Big names sign up for Haiti chartity single
Singers and bands are falling over themselves to sign up for Simon Cowell's Haiti charity single, and it's thought the project could go on to be as big as Band Aid. Stars including Leona Lewis, JLS, George Michael, Rod Stewart, Lady GaGa, Michael Buble, Take That and Robbie Williams are all said to have offered their services, and Florence and the Machine will donate all the proceeds of an upcoming gig to the charity. Will Young, Joe McElderry and even N-Dubz are also keen to get involved. Simon said of the project last night, "We have a short time to do this and the people in Haiti need as much help as we can give them as soon as possible."
Christine Bleakley's harsh words for Jedward
The One Show presenter Christine Bleakley upset Jedward backstage at the National Television Awards this week, muttering an insult under her breath just before the twins went on stage. Several people in the area heard Christine tell them, "You paint a bad picture of Ireland." Luckily, Jedward didn't have any idea who she was *snigger* but sources say the lads were still upset by what she said. Not the nicest thing to do, just before someone's about to perform on live TV at the O2 Arena. We happen to think Jedward give Ireland a good name. Can someone send a bowl of sour milk over to Christine, please...?
Brittany Murphy's husband blames Hollywood for her death
Brittany Murphy's distraught husband Simon Monjack has spoken out and blamed Hollywood for his late wife's death. He revealed yesterday that Brittany had been "very upset" in the weeks leading up to her death after discovering that she'd been dropped as the voice of animated character Gloria in the second Happy Feet movie. Simon explained, "Hollywood broke her heart. It is a village, and once you upset the villagers they talk and they gossip and they rumour. They have blood on their hands." Brittany Murphy died at her home from a heart attack last month. She was just 32.
