Hannah Waterman's mystery man "just a friend"
The mystery man pictured holding hands with Hannah Waterman is "just an old friend", it has been claimed today. The former EastEnders actress, who announced her split from husband of three years Ricky Groves earlier this week, was photographed walking through Soho in London with a bearded man several weeks ago. The man, who has been revealed as 48-year-old theatre actor Simon Bowman, is allegedly an old friend of Hannah's dad Dennis, and is merely being supportive as Hannah goes through her marriage break-up. However, according to sources who spotted the pair at celeb haunt The Groucho Club, they do seem very close. "They were holding hands and whispering into each other's ears," one claimed.
Russell Brand is more romantic than we thought...
More details have emerged today about Russell Brand's proposal to his now-fiancee Katy Perry - and we're actually quite touched by how sweet and romantic they are. Russell apparently had the whole evening planned. He started off by traeting Katy to an expensive traditional Indian dress to wear on the night, and then he took her by horse and carriage to a private dinner in a flower-covered garden. Afterwards the couple watched fireworks while sitting on elephants (random, but true), before Russell escorted his lady to another area of the garden, which had been decorated with candles and flowers. The star's butler for the trip had already hidden the ring amongst the flowers for Katy to find, as when she did Russell got down on one knee. Bless. According to friends, Russell and Katy will probably get married within the next six months. That's going to be one hell of a party!
Two GMTV presenters facing the axe
GMTV is facing a major shake up, as bosses try to find more ways of saving money. The most likely outcome, according to sources, is that two of the show's main presenters will be axed - one male and one female. All the presenters in the frame, including Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard, Andrew Castle, Penny Smith and John Stapleton are said to be "anxious beyond belief", because they all want to keep their jobs. "Everyone is absolutely dreading the results," said one insider. Oh dear. We'll keep our fingers crossed for them.
Jay-Z wants to launch Cheryl Cole in the US
Jay-Z has said he very much wants to help launch Cheryl Cole as a solo artist in the US, and he wants to become more involved with The X Factor. Jay-Z said of the Geordie judge, "I know how hot Cheryl is in the UK. The US market is the toughest one to break into, but I think Cheryl has that talent to do it." Well, if you're going to have anyone on your side, then there's nobody better than Jay-Z. It is also thought the music mogul wants to learn more about The X Factor before Simon launches it in the US. All very exciting news. Do you think Chezza has what it takes to make it big in the States?
