Cheryl removes her wedding ring to perform at The Brits
Cheryl Cole took to the stage at The Brit Awards last night without her wedding ring, sending a clear message out to both husband Ashley and her fans. It's the first time Cheryl has been pictured without her ring since the whole Ashley sex texts scandal broke on Friday and insiders are claiming that the footie star has pretty much accepted that his marriage may be over. Cheryl received a standing ovation for her performance and thanked the crowd afterwards. Host Peter Kay was quick to quip, "You've got to fight for this love - never a truer word spoken." Other highlights of the night included Liam Gallagher throwing his Brit Award to the crowd and Lady GaGa. Just everything about her. For a full list of winners, see below. Did YOU watch the show last night? What did you think of Cheryl's performance?
Simon Cowell admits his girlfriend is "the one"
Simon Cowell admitted during an interview with Piers Morgan that his new girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy could be "the one". The X Factor judge admitted how smitten he was during a three-hour chat with Piers for his LIfe Stories show - and even said he's coming around to the idea of having children. "I'm smitten with Mezghan," he told Piers. "I think she's the one - she's very special. I think I need to have some little Simons around." Girlfriend Mezghan was in the audience throughout the chat and onlookers say the pair spent a lot of the time pulling silly faces at each other. Who would ever have guessed Simon could be so soppy? We're very happy for him.
Peter Andre to take the lead in Grease?
Peter Andre has been approached to play the lead part in the West End production of Grease, it has been reported today. The singer met with the cast during a recent visit and told them he'd love to take part and now pals say it could well happen. "Pete has had lots of offers from musicals. He loves the character of Danny Zuko and he's confident that he will be able to play him," said a friend. Due to his busy schedule and upcoming tour, Pete wouldn't be able to accept the offer until next year at the earliest, but he's definitely said to be keen on the idea.
ITV plan tribute show for Stephen Gately
Stephen Gately will be remembered in a special one-off show to be shown on ITV1 this spring. The show, entitled Boyzone: A Tribute To Stephen Gately, will feature the tragic star's final recordings and interviews with those closest to him. As well as his Boyzone bandmates, the late star's partner Andrew Cowles will also be interviewed as well as his sister Michelle. Louis Walsh said of the plan, "Stephen would be delighted to have a night dedicated to him." Insiders say the show is going to be a "massive occasion". We'll have our tissues at the ready.
