Peaches’ sex scandal threatens modelling deal
Peaches Geldof’s role as the face of Ultimo lingerie could be under threat following allegations that she took part in a heroin-fuelled one night stand. Naked pictures emerged of Peaches at the end of last week, and the guy who posted them – known only as Ben – alleged he and the party girl took heroin and romped in an LA hotel room. Peaches' “people” have rubbished the allegations that she took any drugs, saying instead that she had merely drank alcohol. However, Ultimo are still worried that she’s no longer the right sort of role model for their brand. The meeting is taking place later today so we’ll let you know what happens.
Joe Calzaghe took cocaine because he was “bored”
Boxing and Strictly Come Dancing star Joe Calzaghe last night admitted he’d used cocaine – but only because he was “bored”. The 38-year-old unwittingly confessed his powdery habit to an undercover journalist, and last night he posted an apology on his website, saying, “I am deeply sorry if anyone feels let down. I very much regret my occasional use of cocaine. It is not a major problem in my life, but it is something which I am actively addressing.” Friends of the star claim Joe was only tempted to try cocaine because he has nothing to do these days, with one explaining, “When he was fighting he was kept away from temptation – now he is mixing with people who use drugs as part of their lifestyle.”
Complaints flood in over Andrew Lloyd Webber “advert” show
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest talent show Over The Rainbow has been criticised by some as being a “blatant advert” for the Lord and his musicals. According to some disgruntled viewers, the show is nothing but a tool to promote ALW’s West End shows and as such it goes against strict broadcasting rules. The Lord has been criticised by actor Kevin Spacey, too, who claims the reality shows unfairly promote some West End shows at the expense of others. We can see their argument, but you could also argue that The X Factor is nothing but a giant advert for Simon Cowell and his artists. Or that Britain's Got Talent is nothing but an advert for the Britain’s Got Talent live tour… Did you see Over The Rainbow this weekend, and do you agree with any of this?
Hayley cries tears of joy as she wins Dancing On Ice
Hayley Tamaddon cried tears of delight last night as she was crowned the winner of this year’s Dancing On Ice. Hayley beat former Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy to the title, saying afterwards that the whole experience had been a “dream come true”. Gary Lucy was gracious in his defeat, saying of his rival, “She was fantastic. Her win was thoroughly deserved.” Did you watch the final last night? And do you think the right person won?
