Denise Welch took cocaine on Corrie set
Denise Welch has today admitted she battled with a serious cocaine habit that even saw her taking the drug on the set of Corrie. Actress admits in her new autobiography that her need for the drug was so strong she even called her dealer to meet her outside the studios where Corrie is filmed. "It was my lowest moment," she admits. "I'd reached a point where I felt taking cocaine was the only way I could survive. I was suffering crippling depression and I'd made myself believe coke was the only thing that could make me cope." Denise kicked her cocaine habit when she became pregnant with son Louis, who is now nine, and says she's fearful how people will react now that she's told the truth. "I put my life and my family's future at risk," she says.
Louis Walsh for US X Factor?
We've all been waiting for the day Cheryl Cole is announced as one of Simon Cowell's judges on the US version of The X Factor, but now it seems Louis Walsh may come up and sneak the job from under her nose. According to insiders, Louis is easier to understand than Cheryl - and the Americans love him. "They can relate to Louis more than Cheryl," explains the source. "They saw her as another pretty pop girl - and they have plenty of them already." Oo and er - wonder what Cheryl will say?
Vinnie and Tamer brawl in LA
Vinnie Jones and fellow "hardman" actor Tamer Hassan have been mouthing off at each other away from the film set - and it's ended up with the pair of them getting into a fight. The pair of plonkers allegedly fell out over Christmas and when they met up outside an LA hotel recently it turned nasty and punches were thrown. However, Vinnie doesn't seem too bothered, saying of the scuffle, "We're making a movie together next week. It'll all be forgotten about by then." Tamer's lawyer merely said the actor had been forced to "defend himself" from Vinnie. Now now boys, play nice.
Amy and Blake head to Cuba
Amy Winehouse is treating her man Blake Fielder-Civil to a second honeymoon in Cuba - and apparently there aren't going to be any drugs in sight. The couple, who are back together despite getting divorced last year, allegedly picked Cuba because of their love for Cuban cigars. Of course. It couldn't just be for the good weather with this pair, could it? We think she should leave him there..
