Jack Tweed “did not rape girl” claims friend
Jack Tweed’s friend Anthony Davis yesterday told a court that the girl accusing both men of rape “did not protest” at any stage during the incident. Davis, who is accused of oral rape and of threatening the alleged victim, explained, “She did not protest. If she wanted to stop it she could have.” According to Davis, the girl agreed to sex with both men and was “laughing with friends” before she left. The alleged victim agrees that she did not struggle, but claims she was “frozen with fear” throughout the ordeal. The case continues.
Cheryl’s dancer pal snapped up by Strictly
Dancer Derek Hough is rumoured to be leaving the States for the UK later this year to take up a new role on Strictly Come Dancing. Derek was romantically linked to Cheryl Cole following her separation from Ashley Cole earlier this year. He appeared in her Parachutes video and was pictured leaving her hotel in LA. At the moment Derek is busy sweeping Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger around the dance floor on Dancing With The Stars, but friends say he’s keen on making the move over to Strictly. If he does sign up, he’ll be going head-to-head against Cheryl in the ratings. Could be extremely interesting…
Adrian Chiles in £6million ITV move
Adrian Chiles officially quit the BBC last night after signing a new £6million deal with ITV. The One Show host was said to be fed up after losing his Friday show to Chris Evans and, despite a new offer from the Beeb, he decided to jump ship. Now the plan is to make Adrian the new main man on the GMTV couch, meaning Andrew Castle and Ben Shephard could be given the boot. While you’d assume GMTV is a huge show, The One Show actually gets a larger audience share and many TV insiders are surprised that Adrian took the job. Still, we bet the promise of loads of additional World Cup work helped persuade him.
Dane Bowers arrested after night club brawl
Dane Bowers was involved in a brawl outside a night club this weekend, after he allegedly invited some girls back to his room. One guy, who claims he was punched in the eye by Dane’s friend, explained, “Dane came over and got in my face. He pushed me and I pushed him back. We ended up on the floor.” Dane’s spokesman has this morning claimed his client and friend were “provoked into a fight” and are considering pressing assault charges. Now now boys, play nice.
