Joaquin Phoenix film NOT a hoax
When formerly lush actor Joaquin Phoenix grew a Captain Birdseye beard and started behaving erratically during interviews, we hoped he was just having a little joke with us all. When it was later revealed that his “journey” was being filmed for a special documentary by pal Casey Affleck, it seemed even more likely that the whole thing was a hoax. However, Casey himself has now denied this, saying that Joaquin is not putting anything on for the cameras. “To the outside world there were certain media spectacles that were kind of embarrassing for him and cast him in a very negative light,” explains Casey. “I hope that this film in some way goes towards redressing that balance, and giving a real portrait of him during those times. When it began, I couldn't foresee all that would happen. I'd be lying if I said that I knew that all the fantastic things in the documentary would take place over the couple of years I spent with him filming, and maybe he would not have wanted me to do so had he known. But he had made a commitment to me and let me see it through.” Blimey! We really hoped (and prayed) it was a big joke.

Kristen Stewart has admitted in a new interview that she’s never been with a guy she finds attractive. Yes, we were confuuuuused.com too. Talking about her love life, Kristen said, “I’ve never really gone out with someone I’ve found attractive.” We think she might be a bit BLIND, no? During the same interview, Kristen also admitted that fame and the way people snoop into her private life makes her sick, saying firmly, “It’s so weird, that you have to be worried about people seeing things. You want to be excited about something, normal people can be excited about their lives, and I am, too, but it’s such a different thing. It comes out as entertainment for other people and that makes me want to throw up.” Bless, isn’t she such a happy soul…?

We know Sex And The City fever is taking over the UK at the moment, but we still don’t think that warrants the adoration being displayed by Victoria Beckham. The Spicey one has claimed that she actually is actress SJP, saying bizarrely, “I’m so Sarah Jessica Parker. I just am. I have dressed her a couple of times and I have met her.” We’re not sure what to say to that, really – other than you are NOT Sarah Jessica Parker, actually. You just are not. Simon Cowell has been bossy since birth
We all know that Simon Cowell is a man who’s very good at getting what he wants, but we didn’t know he’d always been like that. In the new series of Real Stories (4Music, Sunday 30 May), Simon’s former boss at EMI – Ellis Rich – reveals that Mr Cowell was always a bit bossy, even in the very early days. There was an occasion where Simon ordered his boss to go and read his book in the bathroom because the reading light was disturbing him – and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Ellis remembers, “He was very good and he would often think of off-the-wall plans, some of which I thought were crazy, but irritatingly he would often be proved right.” We wouldn’t have him any other way.
