Mark Owen and new PM up for Dad Of The Year award
Despite their loverat antics, both Mark Owen and Vernon Kay have reached the shortlist of Bounty’s Celebrity Dad Of The Year award – along with the new PM David Cameron. Also in the top fifteen are Peter Andre, Jeff Brazier, Gary Barlow, Ben Shephard, Jamie Oliver, Ronan Keating, Wayne Rooney and the ex-PM Gordon Brown among others. We reckon he got a late surge of entries after showing off his utterly adorable little boys the day he resigned. Notably absent from the list are famous dads such as Gordon Ramsay and new stepdad Alex Reid. We bet he’ll be entitled to enter by this time next year... Cheryl Cole has left Cannes already
Cheryl Cole looked as if she was having the time of her wee life in Cannes last night, but it clearly wasn’t good enough to persuade her hang around. A short while ago the Girls Aloud star was spotted arriving at Nice airport to fly out of town and her rumoured admirer Will-i-am was nowhere to be seen. It was thought by some that Cheryl would take advantage of some quality one-to-one time with the Black Eyed Peas singer, but alas…it looks like she’s blowing him out again – and not in that way. Do you like the idea of Chezza and Will together, or do you have another celeb male in mind for Mrs Cole?

Lost props will be sold to fans
The final ever episode of Lost is looming and
California-based auction house Profiles in History have decided to cash-in on it. They will be auctioning off over 1,000 props from the show this summer, with everything from characters' passports (fake ones we hope) to Locke’s wheelchair to Hurley’s winning lottery ticket going under the hammer. Lost has such a vast following that this collection is bound to raise thousands. We’re not so fussed about fake plane tickets and hatch doors, but if we could bid to win an hour or so with Josh Holloway then we’re there!

EastEnders star taunted for gay role
Actor Marc Elliott has admitted he’s been subjected to shouts of abuse ever since his EastEnders character began having a gay affair. Marc plays the character of Muslim Syed Massod in the hit BBC soap, and in recent months viewers have watched as his life has crumbled because of his sexuality. “Since playing Syed I have really got it in the neck when I'm out,” says Marc. “I haven't been threatened but there's a lot of cat-calling in the street. Any insult, I've had it thrown at me. It's an incredibly important part. In so many cultures being gay is still something swept under the carpet.” While it must be awful getting abuse like this, at least Marc can be proud in the knowledge his story is getting attention. We think he’s utterly brilliant.

i think my dad deserves this more than any of these knob chedders. he always looks after me and never pimps me out to the highest magazine deal. i get that some of these have been really good ie jeff, but surely hes just stepping up to the mark that any dad should?
