Celebs panic as Twitter crash wipes followers
There was pandemonium in the celebrity world yesterday evening after a bug on Twitter wiped everybody’s followers back down to zero. Twitter had been attempting to fix another bug to prevent their users being forced to follow others, but during the process they managed to remove everyone’s followers. Some celebs reacted better than others, with funnyman Dom Joly Tweeting: “If all 25,000 of you are hiding in my kitchen I’m going to be really p****d off!” and McFly’s chief Twitterer Tom Fletcher posting: “I have no followers...It's the end of the world! I'm alone and miserable again. HELLO...hello...hello (echoes through the empty void).” Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore both joked that the “Turkish hacker” was really doing a number on Twitter, while Stephen Fry joked, “I was sure I had more followers. Must have imagine it.” It was P Diddy who reacted in by far the most extreme way, writing wildly, “I will use my magical powers to fix this! Never fear @iamdiddy is here! HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!” In the end, technicians fixed it and Twitter was restored to normal after just a few hours. Phew. For a moment there we thought the actual world would stop spinning… To follow heatworld on Twitter, just click here.
BGT’s “new Su-Bo” refuses invite to the States
Britain’s Got Talent’s Janey Cutler yesterday revealed she won’t be flying over to the US to appear on any talk shows – because she doesn’t want to leave her beloved collie Tara. The 81-year-old, who has been dubbed “the new Su-Bo” after YouTube clips of her audition were viewed over 100,000 times in one night, told This Morning yesterday, “I’d hate the thought of leaving my wee dog.” Networks in America have offered first-class flights in a bid to woo her over, but Janey is staying put and instead doing her interviews via satellite. After chatting to CBS host David Price yesterday, he admitted her accent had been difficult to understand and that the network would be putting a translation on their website. It really is like Su-Bo all over again, but in her case it was her cat Pebbles. Better get that dog a passport Janey…

Blur set to record new album
When Blur reunited and recorded their single Fool’s Day, Damon Albarn swore it was just a one-off, but now it appears he may have been persuaded to make a little bit more music with his former bandmates. Damon said of their plan, “At some point in the undetermined future there will be a record. I love the no pressure aspect.” Blur haven’t recorded an album together since back in 1999, so it’s been a long wait for their fans. Now all we need is for Liam and Noel to kiss and make up…
