Kate Winslet hit by rogue basketball
Kate Winslet had to take a break from filming on her latest project after a run-in with a rogue basketball left her too bruised to perform. The actress was playing a game with her children Mia and Joe when the accident happened and she was knocked to the floor. Filming on TV series Mildred Pierce was halted for a whole day because poor Kate’s bruises were too dark to cover with make-up. That’s one expensive run-in with a ball. And we always had Winslet down as one of the tough chicks…
Claudia Schiffer names baby daughter Cosima Violet
Continuing the trend of choosing names beginning with a “C” for their children, Claudia Schiffer and husband Matthew Vaughn have named their baby daughter Cosima Violet. The tot arrived on 14 May and is the third for the supermodel and her filmmaker other half. They also have a son named Caspar, who is seven and a five-year-old daughter Clementine. The name apparently means “order and decency”, but with such famous parents is Cosima <really> going to end up that sensible? We can only hope…or not!
Liam Gallagher’s new band is called Beady Eye
We’d describe Liam Gallagher’s eyes has habitually half-shut and heavy-lidded, but he clearly likes the idea of having a Beady Eye because he’s named his new band after one. Liam has teamed up with former Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, with only his brother Noel being notably absent. Dave Berry told heatworld recently that he’d heard some of Liam’s new material and that it was “really, really good” and this time around he’s employed the help of U2 producer Steve Lillywhite. Are you looking forward to hearing Liam’s new stuff, and what do you think of Beady Eye as a name?
Carol McGiffin says she was “a sex maniac” when she turned 40
They say women hit their sexual peak in their early thirties (ahem to that), but for Loose Women presenter Carol McGiffin it happened a little bit later. “I did go a bit stark raving bonkers when I turned 40,” she revealed happily. “I was a sex maniac!” Carol admits having a fling with an unnamed married man during her bonkers bonking spell, but she’s now happily engaged to younger man Mark Cassidy, who is 28. Is it wrong that she’s a little bit of a hero to us…?
