Mel Gibson – the Man With No Fans – has found an unlikely ally during his messy custody battle with Oksana Grigorieva in faded pop star Britney Spears. “Mel has been talking to her a lot, they speak on the phone,” said a source.
Hopefully Brit knows what she’s doing. After hearing those taped calls the mere thought of speaking to Mel on the phone brings us out in hives. So what’s she doing?
“Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point, and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is,” said the source. “She wants people to give him a second chance — just like he gave her one when everyone else turned away.”
Fair enough. But we never actually “turned away” from Mel. If you look carefully you’ll see that we were actually running away in blind terror. There’s a difference.
