Ellen DeGeneres – the American comedian who replaced Paul Abdul on American Idol - is leaving herself, after admitting the job didn’t “fit” her. Singer Jennifer Lopez is poised to take her place.
"A couple months ago, I let… the American Idol producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me," Ellen said. She admitted that although she “loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.”
Although J-Lo hasn’t made an official announcement about taking the job it is believed that the deal has already been done. And at least the job didn’t go to Perez Hilton (which actually felt like a possibility for a while).
The producers will also have to fill the seat vacated by Simon Cowell who left the show after nine series to focus on other projects. Any suggestions for who should replace the little big man? Steven Segal (fingers crossed)?
