Hey, who remembers the 90s? Rubber-faced Jim Carrey was the biggest star in the world and Jenny McCarthy had something vaguely resembling a career. Then they became a couple! Well, five months after their split in April, Jenny’s gone on Oprah to explain why she ended their five-year relationship.
"The first thing is, when it's not fun anymore, you need to start investigating and do an inquiry into the relationship,” she explained. “My identification wasn't caught up [in] being a celebrity's ... girlfriend.”
She continues: "I checked into myself. How does my ego feel? ... My ego's fine. I'm a warrior mom. I always got back on my feet, and I know especially this year who I am.”
Sometimes not living in Los Angeles, where people use phrases like “my ego’s fine”, feels like a blessing in itself. Good luck out there Jen. We hope your identity finds something super-rad to get caught up in. Or something.
