Strictly Come Dancing'sLen Goodman, head honcho on the show's judging panel, has landed himself in a whole world of trouble with the comments he made to Brendan Cole on Saturday night's show, with many Strictly fans bombarding the BBC with complaints and calls for him to be sacked!
Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams and her professional partner Brendan Cole had just finished skipping about the dancefloor jiving to The Rocky Horror Show's Time Warp when 66-year-old Len Goodman let rip with both barrels, saying, "I'm from a ballroom background and I was bitterly disappointed." A fired-up Brendan Cole snapped back at him, and then came the controversial bit...
"What you want to do is turn up, keep up and shut up," grumbled Len. A clearly shocked, 34-year-old Brendan had, of course, been forced to miss the last two weeks following the death of his father - flying home to New Zealand only the previous week to attend the funeral.
Angry Strictly Come Dancing fans then flooded the beeb with complaints. Many calling for the flashing blade of Auntie's cut-backs to take another victim and claim Len's head after his crass comments. A BBC spokesman, meanwhile, has claimed that, "Len and Brendan were disagreeing over the dance, nothing else."
And we thought Saturday night fireworks were supposed to be saved for this weekend!
