Simon Cowell's £100million ITV deal
Simon Cowell has signed a deal with ITV worth £100million to keep both The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent on our screens until 2013 The Sun reports. The TV talent show mogul has agreed to return as a judge on both shows, ending speculation that he’ll ditch our X Factor to focus on the US version. Simon stands to earn £20million over the next three years once he signs his personal appearances deal. Commenting last night Simon said, “I'm thrilled to conclude this deal with ITV to enable our relationship to continue to develop. I'm committed to making sure both shows get bigger and better every year." As well as screening The X Factor and BGT on ITV1, ITV2 will also have the rights to show the US X Factor.
PETA plan Posh protest
It’s thought that Victoria Beckham could be the latest target of animal rights protesters PETA. The group is thought to be very disgruntled by Posh’s use of crocodile, lizard and calf skin in her latest range of designer handbags, and so they plan to cover her in fake lizard blood. Ick! A source told The Mirror today, “PETA have been on Victoria's back for weeks, sending email after email, and even publicly Tweeting her, posting things like, 'Skins are never posh, Posh'. PETA know she is highprofile and that whatever stunt they pull will garner mass publicity. The fact her bags were so well received at her recent showcase in New York has simply given them more incentive.”
Zoe Ball reveals booze battle
Zoe Ball has confessed that drinking to excess nearly put her in “mental home”. The former ladette spoke to Grazia magazine about her battle with drink, “I tried to straighten myself out several times, but I’d always go back – it’s so hard when everyone around you is drinking.” She also explained that the wreckage from a New Year’s Eve house party nearly drove her into psychiatric care “I sat sobbing, knowing if I didn’t stop I’d end up in a mental home. I called a therapist I’d been seeing and asked for help.” Happily for Zoe she and hubby Norman Cook are both now sober.
