David Beckham looks.. *sad news ahead* ..as if he'll be staying in the US of A for the forseeable future. Becks has even suggested that he's willing to become an American citizen, so long as his missus, Victoria Beckham, and their children are happy to continue living stateside.
David Beckham moved to Beverly Hills with Posh and their boys back in 2007, when he signed up to play for the LA Galaxy team, and earn himself ridiculous amounts of cashola. Three years in to that contract and God's gift to women's footballing interests has no plans to return to the UK, and when asked by the Los Angeles Times newspaper if he'd thought he'd ever apply for US citizenship, he gave the heartbreaking reply that...
"I hope so, one day. It would be nice. I'm English born and bred and that's the way I'll always be. I'm an Englishman, you know. Our boys go to school here. As long as they continue to be happy here and my wife's happy here, then we plan on staying."
Gutted. It doesn't sound like he's coming back at all does, it?
In other David Beckham news - the Englishman may not be coming home, but he is keen to take a little piece of England across the pond with him. He's reportedly looking into opening up a pub with his financially-pickled pal, Gordon Ramsay, targeted at all the LA ex-pats. And he supposedly wants to call it The Queen Vic!
Is David Beckham an Eastenders fan, then? Possibly. He is from East London, after all. What we do know is that if Becks becomes a landlord then sorry Gordon, but fine dining will be strictly off the menu in favour of pie 'n' mash, fish and chips or chicken in a basket.
It's just such a long way to go for a pint, on the off chance that he'll be serving it though, isn't it?
