Kelly Osbourne’s never been one of the those boring celebrities who refuses to talk about their personal lives. In fact the 26-year-old reality TV star has always been upfront, open and honest in interviews.
So this month’s Cosmopolitan cover girl has given us an access all areas pass to the most private aspects of her life; she covers everything from gastric bands and replacing drugs with food, to how she’s still in love with her ex fiance Luke Worrall.
Kelly admits that her weight ballooned after rehab, “When I got out of rehab and stopped using drugs, I replaced drugs with food. I was emotionally eating and hated the way I looked, but I couldn’t mask my self-loathing with pills any more. When you’re a fat girl in Hollywood, it’s not fun. You never get looked at the way skinny girls do. I covered it up with my humour, but suddenly I found myself unfunny and hated what I saw."
However, thanks to her involvement on Dancing With The Stars, Kel learned how to manage her weight, “I was asked to do Dancing With The Stars and I only did it to lose weight … I made a life change and re-educated myself about food and eating right. I didn’t know anything before about eating in moderation - I didn’t know how to be healthy and I’d never really worked out… I went to the doctor and he gave me information about which foods I should eat for my body and blood type. I ate more food when I was losing weight than I ever have in my life. I’m in therapy - it’s helped me with all areas of my life. There’s a huge mental factor in losing weight. It’s not just about getting on the treadmill. It’s about doing things to make you feel good about yourself.”
The now super slim star even admits that she once considered a gastric band to help lose weight, “I did [consider a gastric band]. I was so desperate to lose weight - but I backed out. I realised you can fix that problem, but the mental side isn’t fixed. It’s about doing things to make you feel good about yourself. You can lose weight, but if you still feel sh*tty, it doesn’t matter.”
And as for matters of the heart, Kelly bravely admits that she still has feelings for her ex boyfriend Luke Worrall, “I’m 26 and Luke is 21. We still have a lot to learn about life. A lot of mistakes were made, a lot of bad things were said. I think we need to spend time working on ourselves, but it doesn’t erase the fact that I’m head over heels in love with him … I wish [I was a man-magnet]! ... I haven’t been with anyone since Luke.”
What do you think about Kelly’s Cosmo chat? Too much information, to do you like it when celebrities are honest?
