Pop megastar Madonna has been named the most talked-about celebrity of the first decade of the 21st century.
The 52-year-old singer (Yes she is 52, isn’t it amazing?) came out top in a study that revealed her name has been featured in the UK print media more than any other since the year 2000.
Madge had managed to get mentioned a staggering 46,000 times. Madonna was mentioned 15,000 more times than Simon Cowell who came in second place. Simon will probably be pulling up his trousers with the rage of losing at something.
Robbie Williams had to settle for third place, which surprised us but he did sort of disappear to LA for a while which didn’t help.
The rest of the top ten most talked-about were:
Kate Moss
Britney Spears
Victoria Beckham
David Beckham
Michael Jackson
Sir Paul McCartney
Kylie Minogue
We are most surprised about Michael Jackson in that list. His tragic death in 2009 must have inched him ahead of Sir Paul McCartney, who gained a load more coverage thanks to his messy divorce from Heather Mills.
