There have been all sorts of rumours milling around for weeks about Mariah Carey possibly having two little buns in her oven.
The gossip mongers started when the singer accidentally referred to her baby bump as ‘them’ instead of ‘it’ during a radio interview.
She joked, “I just hope that they don’t turn out hating Christmas!” and just like that the never ending stream of stories started.
In fact, the rumours intensified so much that when Mariah was chatting to none other than Barack Obama, backstage during TNT’s Christmas in Washington on Sunday, the President asked if the rumours were true.
Oh Mr President, have you been reading online gossip? Surely not.
But suffice to say, the couple decided the time had finally come to confirm what everybody already suspected, ‘We are having twins,’ Nick Cannon told listeners during his radio show, Rollin With Nick Cannon yesterday.
Mimi’s 30-year-old hubby revealed that “doctors advised us to keep it to ourselves until we get further along,” but Mariah was so ‘overwhelmed’ with excitement she couldn’t resist sharing the news with Obama.
To be fair, if the President asked us a question like that we’d probably struggle to lie as well, after all he is pretty scary.
So anyway, twins - Wow! Double the babies, double the fun – Congrats.
